Abstract: A swivel assembly for an actuator includes: a rod defining a socket, the rod defining an arcuate surface at the floor of the socket; a cap dimensioned to fit into the socket, the cap defining a convex arcuate surface dimensioned to correspond to the arcuate surface of the floor of the socket; a first extended surface defined by the rod, the first extended surface, defined at least in part, by side portions of the socket providing depth to the socket; a second extended surface defined by the cap providing an extended length to the cap to allow the cap to extend out of the socket when the convex arcuate surface of the cap contacts the arcuate surface of the floor of the socket; and a cylinder assembly operatively connected to a piston and the cap to permit the piston and cap to move axially along a longitudinal axis of the cylinder assembly to move inwardly and outwardly of the cylinder assembly.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a linked crank mounting device for use with a switch rail, comprising: an input terminal or series of input terminals; an actuator; an output connector; and attachment means for rigidly attaching the linked crank mounting device relative to the railway; wherein the input terminal or terminals are for receiving input power, the output connector is directly or indirectly mechanically linked to at least one of a switch rail or an output connector of a further linked crank mounting device, and the actuator applies the input power to the output connector.

Abstract: A piston assembly is provided. The piston assembly may include: a piston rod; a piston pivotally connected to the piston rod; and a rotatable rod bearing configured to allow the piston rod to pass therethough and rotate along with the piston rod as the piston rod pivots with respect to the piston. A method of making a piston assembly may be provided. The method may include: attaching a piston rod to a piston in a pivoting connection; providing a rotatable bearing for the piston rod; and supporting the piston rod with the rotatable bearing.
