  • Publication number: 20220324611
Abstract: The intermodal warehousing system includes a platform, a plurality of legs, four corner castings, and additional castings located on the long sides of the platform. Each of the legs may be extendable with an anchor located at one end and a casting located at the other, the leg and the casting being comprised of aluminum. The anchor is carried by a steel plate that is bolted to the leg. To avoid a galvanic reaction, aluminum bushings with steel inserts are welded to the interior of the leg and steel bolts secure the steel plate to the steel inserts. An external handle includes a bolt extending into said leg and cooperating with a wedge located therein that moves the anchor up or down. The handle bolt, wedge and anchor are so constructed and arranged so that rotation of the handle moves the anchor up or down to lock the leg to a casting.

  • Patent number: 10501260
Abstract: A border wall or fence is constructed from a plurality of existing ISO steel shipping containers which are connected together both horizontally and vertically at their corners using conventional corner locks so as to present a continuous physical barrier of any selected length. The containers are stacked three or four high with the bottommost containers recessed into the ground and filled at least partially with dirt or sand. The uppermost containers are open at their ends to allow personnel to walk or drive through the length of the wall. Windows are also formed in the upper containers to allow personnel to view the area around the wall. Gated openings can be formed periodically to allow for passage through the wall.

  • Patent number: 9108758
Abstract: A container may be configured to be operable between a collapsed configuration and an erected configuration. The container may include a base that supports a first attachment member. The container may include a roof that supports a second attachment member. The first and second attachment members may be spaced apart from each other when the container is in the erected configuration. The first and second attachment members may be configured to allow the roof to be secured to the base when the container is in the collapsed configuration. A hinge assembly that may be used with the collapsible container may include a pivoting component, an attachment member that supports the pivoting component, and a securement member. The attachment member may cooperate with the securement member to secure the pivoting component in an upright orientation.

  • Patent number: 6729098
Abstract: An adjustable height corner fitting for a shipping container including a substantially hollow rectangularly shaped block having a bottom wall, end walls and side walls is disclosed. An elongated aperture is located in the bottom wall and is adapted to cooperate with a locking mechanism in order to lock the shipping container to the platform of a vehicle. Also provided is a substantially rectangularly shaped plate that is complementary to the bottom wall and is adapted to be temporarily attached thereto in order to increase the height of the block. The plate also has an elongated aperture therein which is complementary to the aperture in the bottom wall. When the plate is attached, the apertures in the plate and in the bottom wall are in alignment, but the plate causes the corner fitting to extend downwardly approximately a half an inch below the container for shipment on a truck, boat or rail car.

  • Patent number: 6637351
Abstract: A shipping pallet comprises a rectangular planar base member having two opposing ends and two opposing sides. Pivotally connected to one of the ends of the base member is a handle member that is adapted to be pivoted from a stored position, wherein the handle member is folded on top of the base member, to an operative position, wherein the handle member extends upwardly from the base member. The under surface of the base member includes a pair of elongated spaced apart pockets that extend the length of the base member on either side of the center line thereof. An elongated rail is associated with each of the pockets. Hydraulic rams or other power devices move the rails between a first position wherein they are within the pockets so that the planar base member of the pallet rests directly on a support surface and a second position Where the rails extend downwardly to support the pallet thereon.

  • Patent number: 5983806
Abstract: A stackable pallet comprises a rectangular planar base member which has two opposing ends and two opposing sides. Extending into one of the ends of the base member is a recess which is defined by two side edges and a transverse edge. A pair of smooth curved members extend downwardly from the other end of the base member. A pair of spaced apart elongated beams extend downwardly from the base member between the ends of the same. A handle member is pivotally secured to the base member between the side edges of the recess. The handle member is adapted to be pivoted from an inoperative position, wherein the handle member is folded on top of the base member, to an operative position, wherein the handle member extends upwardly from the base member.
