  • Method for monitoring grease consistency

    Abstract: The invention relates to continuous grease making processes. The invention further relates a method for monitoring the consistency of the final product stream of a continuous grease making process. The finished product is passed through a venturi where a pressure drop occurs as the grease moves therethrough. The observed pressure drop is then corrected to ideal conditions based on temperature, flow rate and venturi size. The resulting adjusted pressure drop can then be correlated via an emperically derived realtionship to the consistency of the grease.
