  • Patent number: 9398405
Abstract: An event based service provides services and/or products based on an event. Services/products are made available to persons attending an event. Services, products, and/or advertisements can be made available to persons via wireless mobile communications devices. The services/products can be made available to persons attending an event. Services/products can be made available while the event is occurring. Additionally, advertising space is auctioned allowing the ability to bid for advertising space for advertising services/products via the event based service. Individual providers can offer services/products to a group of people at the same location, and at a time that people may be most interested in the services/products. Access to the event based service can be via service provider offered access points. An individual provider's device can act as a server that enables services/products to be purchased.

  • Publication number: 20160180264
Abstract: A system for determining retention risk comprises a grouper, a filter, a normalizer, a feature vector extractor, a model builder, and a predictor. The grouper is for determining a set of time series of transactions where each is associated with one employee. The filter is for filtering the set of time series of transactions based on an employee transition characteristic to determine a subset of time series. The normalizer is for determining a model set of time series by normalizing the subset of time series. The feature vector extractor is for determining a set of feature vectors determined from a time series of the model set of time series. The model builder is for determining one or more models based at least in part on the set of feature vectors. The predictor is for predicting retention risk for a given employee using the one or more models.

  • Patent number: 9351236
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which relate to provisioning a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) with multiple services. The UICC enables a wireless communication device to communicate through multiple carriers by using a unique virtual subscriber identity module (SIM) to register with each carrier. The unique virtual SIM is one of a plurality of virtual SIMs stored on and managed by the UICC. A carrier network includes a server for provisioning a new virtual SIM on a UICC over-the-air (OTA) when a new customer requests a service such as voice, data, or other type of service. These UICCs may also include logic to automatically select the best carrier for a voice call depending on the user settings.

  • Publication number: 20160135022
Abstract: Message forwarding by communication devices is conditionally and/or automatically controlled. A network message management component and/or handset message management component can monitor messages (e.g., short message service (SMS) messages) communicated between user equipment (UE) in a communication network, identify and/or intercept a message for which one or more forwarding conditions have been specified by the message originator, target, or forward target, and conditionally and/or automatically route the message to the target and/or forward target in accordance with predefined message routing rules based at least in part on the conditions specified by the originator, target, or forward target. The predefined message routing rules can be implemented by the network and/or the UEs, and can relate to the UE identifiers, time, priority, cost, operation state, size, desired automatic response messages, or other desired factors, associated with the message.

  • Publication number: 20160100223
Abstract: Techniques provide for converged wireline and wireless services in part by employing a set-top box (STB) with machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. The STB, associated with an access point, such as a femtocell, can be used to send/receive messages, including video, to/from user equipment (UE) via a core network. A monitoring system includes a sensor component that is triggered under specified conditions, and the STB records events in response to the trigger, where a recorded event can be sent as a message to the UE. The STB or associated remote control can indicate a received message to a user, who can view the message on the STB, remote control, or associated television. A meter component is associated with the STB via the femtocell or other desired connection. The STB can receive and store utility meter readings for validation or dispute by the user.

  • Patent number: 9253320
Abstract: An intelligent virtual service agent implemented on a computer platform is assigned a responsibility to automatically interact with different users across a communication network when a predetermined characteristic of content provided by the different users is identified. Content provided by a user over the communication network is analyzed to determine whether the content provided by the user possesses the predetermined characteristic. When the content possesses the predetermined characteristic, account data of the user for an account specific to the user is obtained, and the account data specific to the user is analyzed. The intelligent virtual service agent is assigned to automatically interact with the user based on the account data specific to the user and based on determining that the content possesses the predetermined characteristic.
