  • Publication number: 20090106291
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provision network resource records are described. An example method of provisioning a plurality of resource records in a telephone number mapping system includes receiving first and second inputs to define a range of numbers corresponding to a plurality of resource records; creating an object in a first server, the object having one or more attributes to represent the plurality of resource records; and automatically provisioning the plurality of resource records in a second server based on the one or more attributes of the object.

  • Publication number: 20080288619
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a network is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network device having a controller element to modify a communication parameter of the network device based on a policy of the communication system, wherein the policy is generated based at least in part on a client request to modify the communication system and a policy template retrieved according to a policy identification communicated over the Internet by an operations support system. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080037757
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing ENUM records is disclosed. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a broker having a detection element that detects a Resource Record (RR) submission made by an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), and a comparison element that retrieves from an object-oriented data storage element a zone associated with the RR, identifies a Domain Name Server (DNS) responsible for processing said zone, compares the zone with a volatile memory of the DNS, and updates the volatile memory according to one or more differences detected. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080025316
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed to provision name-servers. An example method disclosed herein includes associating a plurality of ranges of threshold numbers with respective ones of a plurality of name-servers, computing a number based on an identifier for a plurality of subscribers, locating at least one of the plurality of ranges of threshold numbers corresponding to the computed number, and assigning a plurality of name server records for the plurality of subscribers to at least one of the plurality of name-servers corresponding to the located one of the plurality of ranges of threshold numbers.

  • Publication number: 20070217375
Abstract: An apparatus and method (300) are disclosed for requesting wireless services with a single reusable authorization code. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network management system (NMS) (102) having a controller (108) that manages operations of a communications interface (104) that communicates with wireless access points (WAPs) (114) in a communication system (100). The controller can be programmed to receive (304) from a wireless communication device (WCD) (116) a request for service with a select one of the WAPs, determine (306) from the request an identity associated with the WCD, determine (316) from the identity one or more service attributes corresponding to the WCD, and establish (318-324) service between the WCD and the WAP according to the one or more service attributes. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060123664
Abstract: A shoe insole (or sole) includes at least two elastomeric pads horizontally distinct from one another, each pad having a different rebound rate. The insole thereby provides at least one pad with relatively greater shock absorbing properties and at least one other pad with relatively greater energy return, or lift, properties. These differing characteristics allow an insole to be customized with regard to the specific use of a shoe.

  • Patent number: 6541421
Abstract: This invention relates to a buffered phosphorus containing solution comprising at least one phosphorus compound selected from the group consisting of phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid, polyphosphorous acid polyhypophosphorous acid, and salts thereof. The solution also contains a buffer including an organic base in the form of a nitrogen containing compound and its conjugate acid. The solution may be used as a fertilizer or as a fungicide. The invention also relates to a method of preparing such a solution.

  • Patent number: 5702238
Abstract: A reciprocating piston gas compressor driven by an integral internal combustion engine is disclosed. The compressor may be used as an air compressor but has particular application for compressing natural gas from natural gas wells. It has few moving parts. The compressor has a reciprocating assembly, one end of which functions as the piston in an engine and the other end of which functions as the piston in a compressor. Motion of the assembly is regulated by a crankshaft. The crankshaft is connected to the reciprocating assembly by a linkage having arms which pass on either side of the assembly. The crankshaft preferably extends through a slot in the reciprocating assembly. Several compressors may be combined to make a multi-stage compressor.
