    Abstract: A method for forming a curved edge on a lens comprising the steps of providing an annular laser beam and irradiating a first peripheral region of the lens with the laser beam to remove a layer of lens material from the first peripheral region through ablative photodecomposition. Next, a second peripheral region of the lens is irradiated with the laser beam to remove a layer of lens material from the second peripheral region.
