  • Patent number: 5412896
Abstract: A utility device for a fisherman includes a housing having a neck strap, a downwardly and forwardly directed light source and a magnifying glass for downwardly and forwardly directed viewing in a beam of light generated by the light source. The device also includes a clock facing upwardly toward the user, a measuring tape, a hone, a belt clip, a line cutter and a measuring tape. The housing also includes material providing for flotation. Additionally, the light source, clock, measuring tape, hone and line cutter are all of modular design allowing plug-in mounting in the housing for ease of repair/replacement.

  • Patent number: 4211837
Abstract: Removable opaque backing layers for photographic silver halide elements are described. The opaque backing layer contains carbon black and a scavenging agent for impurities of the carbon black selected from fine-rain photosensitive silver halides, silver nitrate, and halides of iron, zinc and mercury. The scavenger prevents the impurities from fogging the photographic silver halide emulsion layers of the elements.

  • Patent number: 4167414
Abstract: An opaque polyester film base, coated with several subbing layers, provides a substitute for paper supports currently used for photographic silver halide emulsion films. The film base is energy-treated and then coated sequentially with (1) a white reflective layer comprising titanium dioxide, a polyfunctional aziridine, and an acrylic binder which is crosslinked to the functional groups in the energy-treated base by the aziridine, and (2) an intermediate substratum containing gelatin for anchoring the negative silver halide emulsion.
