  • Patent number: 5749434
Abstract: Apparatus for minimizing the risk of falls from the edge of a roof deck during installation of deck panels (14) on beam members (12) of a building frame, includes a platform (26). The platform includes frame members (32) that are rollably movable on the beam members. The platform is movable using a plurality of handles (38) which also operate to hold a safety line (62). A trailing edge (28) of the platform is maintained in closely adjacent relation to the front edge of a last placed deck panel. This minimizes the unsupported area between the last placed panel and the platform and avoids the risk of falls during installation of the roof deck.

  • Patent number: 5694720
Abstract: A safety clamp (10) attaches a safety cable (48) to standing seams (14) of a roof deck (12). The safety clamp has a housing (16) with a movable member (20) mounted therein. The housing has first tabs (18) that extend outward thereon and are engageable with first sides of the standing seams. The movable member has second tabs (22) mounted thereon that extend through cut-outs (24) in the housing. The safety clamp is attachable to the standing seams by moving a threaded member (38) to hold three standing seams in clamped relation between the tabs.

  • Patent number: 5497851
Abstract: A lifting platform for elevating workers and materials during construction includes a load supporting deck (12). The deck is supported on a pair of intersecting channels (24). The channels are rotatable about a pin (28) which extends through upper and lower plates (30, 32). A disk shaped member (26) is supported on a lower support frame portion (48). The channels (24) are connected to brackets (40) which include a tab portions (42) which extends beneath the lower face (32) of the of the disk shaped member and is slidably positioned therewith. The platform is rotatable about the disk shaped member and can be fixed in a selected rotational position. The platform may be raised by the lower support frame portion using conventional lifting forks (64) of a forklift truck (66).
