  • Patent number: 9108319
Abstract: A suction cup assembly has a housing with an actuator in the housing. A flexible cup is coupled with the housing. The actuator movement causes the flexible cup to move between at least two positions. In a first position, the flexible cup moves into an increased volume position. In a second position, the flexible cup moves into at least a neutral volume position. In the increased volume position, the flexible cup seals with a surface. In the neutral volume position, the flexible cup releases from the surface.

  • Publication number: 20130254652
Abstract: Techniques providing focus to portion(s) of content for Web resources (either published, authored, etc., by the user, or by other third-parties) are described. In accordance with an embodiment, users may designate portion(s) of content for focus by specifying shapes around the portion(s) for which focus is to be provided. In accordance with another embodiment, users may designate portion(s) of content for focus by using pre-identified tag elements of the Web resource. The portion(s) of content for which focus is provided may appear lighter than the content or which no focus has been provided, thereby giving an effect of a spotlight shining on the portion(s) for which focus has been provided. Information associated with each of the designated portion(s) may be shared with other users. In this way, any user visiting a Web resource that includes content for which focus has been provided may be able to view such content.

  • Patent number: 8226141
Abstract: A gripper has a frame with a plurality of guide rods secured to the frame. At least one jaw is slidably secured with the plurality of guide rods. The at least one jaw includes a housing surrounding a portion of at least one of the guide rods. A locking device is positioned in the jaw housing. The locking device is adjacent the at least one guide rod. The locking device removably applies a force onto the at least one guide rod. The locking device locks the jaw in position when the force is applied and enables the jaw to slide on the guide rods when the force is removed.

  • Publication number: 20050260403
Abstract: A restraint, e.g. a corner restraint for packaging flat glass sheets, includes a first leg and a second leg joined at a vertex. Each of the legs have an outer surface having a first strap engaging position spaced from the vertex and a second strap engaging position at the vertex. The height of the first strap engaging position measure from an intermediate portion of the second surface between the first and second positions is greater than the height of the second strap engaging position. With this arrangement, the biasing force applied by a banding strap to the corner restraint reduces the biasing force applied to the vertex to reduce damage to corners of the flat glass sheets.

  • Patent number: 5772259
Abstract: An actuating slide assembly for an automatic assembly machine, wherein the slide assembly includes telescoping fluid conducting conduits interconnected between the slide body and associated end block mounted for relative reciprocal movement relative to the slide body and a sealing arrangement for effecting a fluid tight seal between the relative movable telescoping conduits and associated slide body and end block. The sealing arrangement includes a sealing cartridge and associated O rings circumscribing one of the telescoping fluid conduits intermediate the opposed ends thereof to prohibit any leakage between the relative movable telescoping conduits and the associated slide body and a second sealing arrangement connecting the outer end of a telescoping conduit to its associated end block in a manner to provide a leakproof seal therebetween.
