  • Patent number: 9769051
Abstract: A target network transceiver is tested or monitored using an intelligent transceiver programmed to perform such testing and to transmit test results to a remote server. A demarcation unit enclosure is provided that includes two ports for the target and intelligent transceivers that are connected by a direct data link. An interface circuit connecting control interfaces of the two transceiver ports polls the target transceiver and passes polled control information to the intelligent transceiver.

  • Patent number: 8306422
Abstract: A Wavelength Division Multiplexed Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON) includes an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) including a first Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) MUX/DEMUX, and a remote node including a second AWG MUX/DEMUX. Each AWG MUX/DEMUX has at least two input ports for receiving a respective wavelength division multiplexed optical signal, and a plurality of output ports. Each output port of the Optical Line Terminal AWG MUX/DEMUX is coupled to a respective transceiver of the OLT. Each output port of the remote node AWG MUX/DEMUX is coupled to a respective PON having at least one optical network terminal (ONT). Respective first and second optical paths are coupled between corresponding input ports of the first and second AWG MUX/DEMUXs. Means are provided for sourcing seed light of the WDM-PON into a selected one the first and second optical paths.

  • Publication number: 20100021164
Abstract: A system for overlaying an analog broadcast channel in a Wavelength Division Multiplexed Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON). A remote node of the WDM PON includes a MUX/DEMUX for demultiplexing a Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) signal and supplying respective wavelength channels to each one of a plurality of channel fibers; an optical power splitter for supplying the analog broadcast channel to each one of a plurality of distribution paths; and a respective optocoupler connected to each distribution path, each opticoupler coupling the analog broadcast channel into one of the channel fibers. The analog broadcast channel has a wavelength that is outside a wavelength band of the WDM signal. An Optical Network Terminal (ONT), which is connected to one of the channel fibers, includes a triplexer for separating the analog broadcast channel from at least a downlink wavelength channel of the WDM-PON.

  • Patent number: 4357691
Abstract: A rectangular-faced clock is provided wherein the passage of time is indicated by the intersection of a horizontal and vertical lines moving respectively vertically and horizontally across the front of the clock. The movement of one line relative to the other and vice versa respectively represent the passage of hours and minutes. A convenient means of achieving this result is to mark the lines on endless bands trained about rollers driven by a synchronous electric motor or motors.
