  • Publication number: 20240083117
Abstract: A method of printing a multi-material part in a layer-wise manner with an extrusion-based 3D printer includes providing a sliced digital model of a multi-material part and determining a number of materials in each of the slices of the digital mode. The method includes utilizing a digital model of a purge tower having N subdivisions having a closed geometry, wherein N is the number of print heads needed to print the part that is greater than or equal to three, each adjacent subdivision contact one another along an interface and assigning each print head to one subdivision and to tool paths forming the one subdivision in each layer. The method includes reassigning the assigned subdivision within the purge tower of an inactive print head in a layer to a print head that is active in the layer of the multi-material part.

  • Patent number: 8450701
Abstract: A cold trap filter and method is provided for filtering chemical species from a vacuum system of an ion implantation system. A canister is in fluid communication with an exhaust of a high vacuum pump and an intake of a roughing pump used for evacuating an ion source chamber. One or more paddles are positioned within the canister, wherein each paddle has a cooling line in fluid communication with a coolant source. The coolant source passes a coolant through the cooling line, thus cooling the one or more paddles to a predetermined temperature associated with a condensation or deposition point of the chemical species, therein condensing or depositing the chemical species on the paddles while not interfering with a vacuum capacity of the high vacuum and roughing pumps. The paddles can also be electrically biased to electrostatically attract the chemical species to the paddles in one or more biasing steps.

  • Publication number: 20090094091
Abstract: A method of dispatching a service call for an electromechanical device, such as a document production device, is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a dispatching server, a communication requesting service on a first document production device. The communication includes a unique identifier corresponding to the first device. A data server stores operational history data for a multiple document production devices, and the dispatching server accesses the operational history data in the data server to retrieve service data for the first device. The dispatching service sends a service order message to a customer service representative mobile communication device. The service order message includes a location identifier for the first device, operator contact information for the first device, and the service data.

  • Patent number: 7487902
Abstract: The present invention includes a blank and container formed of cellulose-based materials configured to form a triangular shaped container. The container includes a triangular shaped bottom panel, side walls and a rear wall that define a first triangular volume. The top panel and second side panels generally form a second triangular volume that is slightly larger than the first triangular volume. The second triangular volume is configured to fold over the first triangular volume such that the top panel and second side panels fully enclose the bottom panel and the first side panels. The container is locked by a friction fit between juxtaposed tabs inserted into a slot located between the ends of the intersecting first side panels.

  • Publication number: 20050214499
Abstract: An inventive solid phase forming process, and related structure, using conventional pelletized thermoplastic compositions to form the of a non-textile fabric by coining a single pellet or briquette of the polymer into an individual element in a single forming step. The steps of the process generally include: a) positioning a pellet in or adjacent to a mold cavity, and b) forcing the pellet into contact with the mold surfaces of the mold cavity to plastically deform the pellet to cause the pellet to adapt the shape of the mold cavity. The mold cavity has a shape to form the desired element, and its volume is substantially the same as the volume of the pellet. The forcing step or act preferably uses an energy and speed where the pellet superplastically deforms to substantially fill the volume of the mold cavity. This process is repeated with the particular element being formed in the appropriate order to form interconnected plates and rivets, as an example, with the final result being a non-textile fabric.
