Publication number: 20230241397Abstract: A method of applying a neural stimulus with an implanted electrode array involves applying a sequence of stimuli configured to yield a therapeutic effect while suppressing psychophysical side effects. The stimuli sequence is configured such that a first stimulus recruits a portion of the fibre population, and a second stimulus is delivered within the refractory period following the first stimulus and the second stimulus being configured to recruit a further portion of the fibre population. Using an electrode array and suitable relative timing of the stimuli, ascending or descending volleys of evoked responses can be selectively synchronised or desynchronised to give directional control over responses evoked.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2022Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventors: John Louis Parker, James Hamilton Wah, Dean Michael Karantonis, Milan Obradovic, Robert Bruce Gorman

Publication number: 20230233859Abstract: This disclosure relates to a device for applying a neural stimulus. A battery supplies electrical energy at a battery voltage and an electrode applies the electrical energy to neural tissue. A circuit measures the nervous response of the tissue and a voltage converter receives the electrical energy from the battery and controls a voltage applied to the electrode based on the measured nervous response of the tissue. This direct voltage control is energy efficient because losses across a typical current mirror are avoided. Further, the control based on the measured nervous response leads to automatic compensation of impedance variation due to in-growth or change in posture. As a result, the stimulation results in a desired neural response.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2023Publication date: July 27, 2023Applicant: Saluda Medical Pty LtdInventors: Peter Scott Vallack Single, James Hamilton Wah

The device has measurement circuitry for recording a neural compound action potential signal sensed at the sense electrodes. Crosstalk cancellation circuitry is configured to produce a stimulus crosstalk cancellation signal, and is configured to inject the stimulus crosstalk cancellation signal into the measurement circuitry. The stimulus crosstalk cancellation signal is configured to cancel a stimulus crosstalk voltage arising upon the one or more sense electrodes as a result of delivery of the stimulus.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2021Publication date: June 29, 2023Applicant: Saluda Medical Pty LtdInventors: Peter Scott Vallack Single, James Hamilton Wah

Publication number: 20230165408Abstract: A food preparation appliance, such as a blending, mixing, or food processing appliance, allows for rotatable blade movement by a drive and/or driven shaft relative to a jar holding contents along with movement of the jar relative to the blade in the axial direction of the drive and/or driven shaft. For example, a vertical or axial movement of the blade relative to the jar, or vice-versa can be guided within defined limits. Aspects provide the consumer with an intuitive and proactive way of preventing cavitation and improving the blending performance by allowing the user to manually and indirectly physically agitate the mixture with an up and down motion of the jar during a blending operation. This option for manual operation is part of the disclosed blender design, so is always and conveniently available to the consumer as an anti-cavitation method.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2021Publication date: June 1, 2023Inventors: Kroy Everett Nernberger, Steven James Buth, Matthew Joseph Quock, Matthew James Hamilton, David William Everett Jr., Daniel Richard Strong
