  • Publication number: 20140042136
Abstract: The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method for collecting one or more welding parameters in real time during creation of one or more welds using a welding sequence. The one or more welding parameters can be associated with a particular welding sequence. Moreover, based on the one or more welding parameters collected, a modeled welding parameter can be generated to increase quality, efficiency, and the like. A collection component collects real time welding parameter data from which a quality manager component creates a modeled welding parameter. The modeled welding parameter can be employed for the welding sequence to monitor or track the welding parameter during a subsequent weld.

  • Publication number: 20140042135
Abstract: The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method for performing a welding operation that is controlled in part by a welding sequence. An input component is provided that receives an input from an operator during a performance of a welding operation in which the input allows control of the welding operation or feedback from the welding operation. In an embodiment, the input component is incorporated or affixed to equipment of the operator. An Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag is further utilized to control use of a welding sequence based on wireless data communicated between the RFID tag and an RFID component.

  • Publication number: 20080087654
Abstract: An electric arc welder for performing a pulse welding process by a current between an advancing electrode and workpiece where the welder comprises a short detecting circuit for creating a short signal upon occurrence of a short circuit between the advancing electrode and the workpiece and a boost circuit to create a plasma boost pulse after the short circuit is cleared during the time period when the welder is not outputting the peak pulse current.

  • Publication number: 20080006612
Abstract: An electric arc device and methods to build up, clad, join, or overlay an alloyed metal onto a parent metal with minimal admixture. The methods employed in the electric arc device provide a high frequency waveform with a high amplitude pulse, a low amplitude background current, and a special shorting routine, to alleviate the problem of generating too much ad-mixture. A fast transition from a peak current level to a background current level along with a shorting response and a plasma boost pulse reduces the droplet size and reduces the heat input required to achieve good welding performance.

  • Publication number: 20060247622
Abstract: A clamp assembly for bone fixation elements including first and second clamp structures configured to engage first and second bone fixation elements, respectively. The first clamp structure may have a first spherically contoured bearing surface. The second clamp structure may have a second spherically contoured bearing surface seated in sliding contact with the first bearing surface. A spring-loaded mechanism may apply a spring force urging the bearing surfaces together to resist pivotal movement of the clamp structures relative to each other. The clamp assembly may be used with an assembly of fixation elements to create an external fixation frame.

  • Publication number: 20050137608
Abstract: The disclosed cranial flap clamp includes first and second clamping members and an extension member. A portion of the first member is positionable against inferior surfaces of a bone flap and skull and a portion of the second member is positionable against superior surfaces of the flap and skull. The extension member extends from the first member through the second member and fits between the flap and skull. Movement of either of the clamping members urges the inner surface of the first member against the inferior surfaces of the flap and skull and urges the inner surface of the second member against the superior surfaces of the flap and skull. The securing instrument includes features useful in cutting or crimping the extension member. The tension limiting assembly provides variable designs and combinations for limiting the tension placed on, and exerted by, the securing instrument during use.
