  • Publication number: 20050132182
Abstract: A Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA) endorsement certificate is provided by comparing a trusted platform module (TPM) public key transmitted by an owner of the computing device to which the TPM belongs to a copy of the key as originally stored in a remote database prior to vending the device. If a match is found the certificate is created using the public key, and then sent to the owner of the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20050129244
Abstract: Trusted platform module (TPM) keys are copied to a floppy diskette or fob that is external to the customer device in which the TPM resides, so that if the keys in TPM are zeroed as a result of, e.g., a malicious denial of service attack, they can be copied back from the diskette or fob.

  • Publication number: 20050127971
Abstract: CMOS transistors are configured to operate as either a redundant, SEU-tolerant, positive-logic, cross-coupled Nor Gate SR-flip flop or a redundant, SEU-tolerant, negative-logic, cross-coupled Nand Gate SR-flip flop. The register can operate as a memory, and further as a memory that can overcome the effects of radiation. As an SR-flip flop, the invention can be altered into any known type of latch or flip-flop by the application of external logic, thereby extending radiation tolerance to devices previously incapable of radiation tolerance. Numerous registers can be logically connected and replicated thereby being electronically configured to operate as a redundant circuit.

  • Publication number: 20050114686
Abstract: A method and system for encrypting non-volatile storage regions, such as volumes, accessible by multiple users. A plurality of non-volatile storage regions is encrypted each with a different encryption key. A subset of the encryption keys is made available to each user thereby granting the user access to a corresponding subset of non-volatile storage regions. To protect a user's encryption keys, a private-public encryption key pair is generated, the private key being made available only to that user. The subset of the user's encryption keys is encrypted using the user's public encryption key. The users' private keys can be stored in a secure encryption module and can be protected with a password. Upon authenticating a user, the corresponding encryption keys may be provided to the user after decrypting the encryption keys using the user's private key. The contents of the non-volatile storage regions are then decrypted using the encryption keys.

  • Patent number: 6747995
Abstract: A system that provides additional voice lines with data over a single two-wire subscriber loop. At the subscriber premise, one or more telephone instruments and data devices are connected to a digital modem into either a voice or a data interface. Analog voice signals are PCM sampled then packetized, and voice and data packets are transmitted to a CO modem over the subscriber loop. The CO modem depacketizes the voice packets into PCM format and transmits PCM voice information to a CO switch over a standard digital trunk interface. Data packets are routed to a data network. Voice packets are given transmission priority over data packets to ensures that voice is transported in the presence of data with low latency.

  • Patent number: 5978373
Abstract: A system that provides secure transmission of data between a subscriber's PC and an online service provider (OLS) over an Ethernet WAN. The system includes a remote transceiver unit located at a subscriber site and connected to the subscriber's PC; a central transceiver unit located at a telephone central office and connected to the remote transceiver unit over a twisted pair network and also connected to a WAN; an authorization server that is connected to the WAN; and one or more OLSs, which may include Internet service providers, connected to the WAN. Security of transmission is provided through a method in which only subscriber transmissions directed to a session-specific OLS are allowed to pass through the central transceiver unit onto the WAN, and only unicast transmissions from authorized OLSs are allowed to pass through the central transceiver unit to the subscriber port of the remote transceiver unit. Broadcast transmissions are minimized in favor of unicast messages.

  • Patent number: 4794591
Abstract: An echo cancellation arrangement is provided for decreasing the "singing" of a connection of a large number of telephone subscribers in a conference calling arrangement. This arrangement includes a means for inserting quiet code during time when the voice samples of incoming PCM data are zero or below a predetermined minimum threshold level. This helps decrease the amount of feedback which is amplified and output through the codec/filter to the listeners through the PCM network. An attenuation arrangement is also included which decreases the level of a summed signal of a summing node of the conference circuit. This sum signal is the combination of each of the conferees' speech. Attenuation of this signal prohibits excessive coupling of amplified feedback to each of the listening conferees.
