Publication number: 20240149538Abstract: A method of manufacturing a backed cross-ply prepreg comprises cutting, using a cutting machine, a first continuous length of a unidirectional prepreg into first prepreg segments, each having an opposing pair of segment cut edges that are non-parallel to a lengthwise direction of the unidirectional prepreg. The method also includes picking up, using a pick-and-place system, the first prepreg segments off of the cutting machine, and placing the first prepreg segments in end-to-end relation onto a conveyor belt of an adhesion machine, and in an orientation such that the segment cut edges are generally parallel to a lengthwise direction of the conveyor belt. The method also includes feeding, using the conveyor belt, the first prepreg segments to an adhesion station of the adhesion machine, and adhering, using the adhesion station, the first prepreg segments to a continuous length of a backing material.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2024Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Shuonan Dong, Silas L. Publication number: 20240094827Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for robust radar-based gesture-recognition. A radar system detects radar-based gestures on behalf of application subscribers. A state machine transitions between multiple states based on inertial sensor data. A no-gating state enables the radar system to output radar-based gestures to application subscribers. The state machine also includes a soft-gating state that prevents the radar system from outputting the radar-based gestures to the application subscribers. A hard-gating state prevents the radar system from detecting radar-based gestures altogether. The techniques and systems enable the radar system to determine when not to perform gesture-recognition, enabling user equipment to automatically reconfigure the radar system to meet user demand. By so doing, the techniques conserve power, improve accuracy, or reduce latency relative to many common techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Jung Ook Hong, Patrick M. Publication number: 20240091708Abstract: Wastewater is treated though primary treatment of the water by way of a micro-sieve to produce a primary effluent and primary sludge. There is secondary treatment of the primary effluent by way of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) or an integrated fixed film activated sludge (IFAS) reactor to produce a secondary effluent and a waste activated sludge. The micro-sieve may have openings of 250 microns or less, for example about 150 microns. In a process, a gas transfer membrane is immersed in water. Pressurized air flows into the gas transfer membrane. An exhaust gas is withdrawn from the gas transfer membrane and used to produce bubbles from an aerator immersed in the water.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Pierre Lucien COTE, Steven Kristian PEDERSEN, Wajahat Hussain SYED, Jeffrey Gerard PEETERS, Nicholas William H. Publication number: 20240077890Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods and system used to collect waste fluids. A system controller is disclosed to control the operation of at least a portion of the system. The controller has a CPU. The fabrication facility includes a first processing system having fluid dispensed therein for processing a material on a part. A first drain is configured to collect the processing fluid as waste fluid after processing the part. The fabrication facility also includes a waste collection system fluidly coupled to the system drain. The waste collection system has two or more valves configured to couple the system drain and two or more facility drains. Each facility drain is uniquely coupled to one of the two or more valves. The CPU is configured to operate the valves between an open and a closed state in response to the fluid entering the system drain.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Maxime CAYER, John L. Patent number: 11919256Abstract: A manufacturing system includes a cutting machine, an adhesion machine, and a pick-and-place system. The cutting machine sequentially cuts a continuous length of a unidirectional prepreg into prepreg segments. Each prepreg segment has an opposing pair of segment cut edges that are non-parallel to a lengthwise direction of the unidirectional prepreg. The adhesion machine has a conveyor belt and an adhesion station. The pick-and-place system sequentially picks up the prepreg segments from the cutting machine, and places the prepreg segments in end-to-end relation on the conveyor belt, and in an orientation such that the segment cut edges are generally parallel to a lengthwise direction of the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt feeds the prepreg segments to the adhesion station. The adhesion station adheres the prepreg segments to a continuous length of a backing material, thereby resulting in a continuous length of a backed cross-ply prepreg.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignees: The Boeing Company, University of WashingtonInventors: Shuonan Dong, Silas L.
