  • Patent number: 7689196
Abstract: Techniques for performing timer-based sleep to extend sleep time and thus battery life for a terminal in a wireless communication system. The likelihood of data traffic may be related to recent usage. If recent usage indicates that data traffic is unlikely, then the terminal can continue to maintain the link but monitor the signals from the system at a reduced rate. In one method, the probability of data traffic for the terminal is initially estimated (e.g., based on time since last activity and a particular usage model). A timer value is then determined based on the estimated probability of data traffic. The timer value may be modified based on an event, which may relate to link maintenance, hand-off, and so on. Sleep is then performed for the duration corresponding to the unmodified or modified timer value and may extend past one or more designated paging slots.

  • Publication number: 20070197061
Abstract: A dual purpose wall plate (10) includes a flat support plate (20) that defines on one half a support plate opening (26) and a sloped cable support extension (32) for extending into the hollow wall structure and for passing low voltage communications cable (39) through the wall. The other half of the support plate (20) includes a plug opening (38) and a plug receptacle housing (40) and a high voltage plug receptacle (44) for receiving a power plug (41). The external surface of the dual purpose wall plate is substantially flat and substantially coextensive with the wall to which it is mounted, therefore forming no protrusions that would interfere with the mounting of a flat screen television or other device directly over the wall plate.

  • Publication number: 20070187129
Abstract: A wall plate (10) is provided that accommodates communication cable and is formed by a support plate (11) and a cable support extension (12) mounted to the inner surface (20) support plate. The cable support extension is open-ended, with one opening in communication with the access opening (26) of the support plate (11) and the other opening projecting inside the wall structure (50). This allows the communication cable (56) to be fed from within the wall structure, through the wall plate, and beyond, with the cable support extension functioning as an interior sight barrier without obstructing the placement of a flat screen television set or other wall mounted objects.

  • Publication number: 20070096528
Abstract: A high chair features various modes of adjustability and enhanced utility. The height of the chair can be adjusted using a single hand that engages a rear handle. The height of a seat platform of the chair can be adjusted separately relative to the tray. The tray itself is ergonomically designed for the benefit of the caregiver. A removable tray liner facilitates after-meal clean-up. Wheels on the underside of the tray ease fore/aft adjustment. A pivoting back rest of the chair minimizes rearward shift of the center of gravity of the occupied chair, thus requiring a smaller chair footprint. Further, an accessory bar pivoted to a seat back portion of the chair provides readily accessible entertainment.

  • Patent number: 7197124
Abstract: An in-bound directed telephone station, and a method of directing a telephone station based on an in-bound call, are disclosed. The inbound directed telephone station includes a handset having a call receiver and a call originator, a first memory location, coupled to the call receiver, and a comparator coupled to the first memory location and to the call receiver. Upon receipt of an inbound call by the call receiver, the comparator compares an identifier of the in-bound call to an identifier list in the first memory location and terminates receipt of the in-bound call by the call receiver. Upon locating a match between the identifier list and the identifier of the in-bound call, the comparator automatically activates the call originator to perform a function associated with the in-bound call identifier.

  • Publication number: 20050242548
Abstract: The apparatus is a baby stroller that folds easily. A fold bar preventing the sides from moving toward each other is released by pulling a flexible wire. The wire releases a latch locking together pivoting sections of the fold bar and also activates a cam to move the sections over center to permit the sides to be pushed together. The stroller also includes a single action brake system that is designed to not interfere with the folding action and a hard surface footrest that folds because it is supported on a continuous length of flexible material that acts as hinges on both sides and the center of the footrest.

  • Publication number: 20050046152
Abstract: The apparatus is a reduced size baby stroller with a structure that counteracts the usual lengthening when the stroller is folded. The rear wheels of the stroller are interconnected with the front legs and attached to the rear legs by a pivoting wheel link so that the rear wheels do not separate from the front wheels when folded, but instead pivot out of alignment with the rear legs. The stroller handles are mounted on tubes that can telescope inward because all the attachments to the outer tubes are made by external fixtures that do not penetrate into the interior of the tubes, and the canopy can also slide inward when the stroller is folded because the canopy frame in mounted on a fixture with a track.

  • Publication number: 20020087962
Abstract: A system and process for migration enhancements to software located on a model or production system are described. When enhancements are received, a trigger file(s) is created. An archive copy of the model or production system is saved, including the portion of the model or production system where the enhancements are to be migrated. The enhancements are migrated based on the trigger file, thereby enabling the enhancements to be automatically migrated. The archived copy is reinstalled if the enhancements are not properly installed. If the enhancements are properly installed, the system is tested. The invention may enable migration to occur when the model or production system is used least by its users.

  • Patent number: 5812607
Abstract: A system and method for processing wideband data within digital FM transceiver. A digital FM demodulator within the transceiver produces a demodulated information signal in response to the FM signal. The digital FM receiver also includes a wideband message processing section for recovering message information from the demodulated information signal. A word register circuit within the wideband message processing section stores one or more repetitions of a message word recovered from the demodulated information signal. During operation of the FM receiver in a control channel mode, a dotting detector within the wideband processing section is used for detecting a first dotting sequence within the demodulated information signal. Similarly, the dotting detector serves to detect a second dotting sequence within the demodulated information signal during operation in a voice channel mode.

  • Patent number: 5018266
Abstract: A tool changer including male and female flanges for connecting end effectors to robot arms. A male flange having a tapered projection is inserted into a tapered opening in a female flange having a rod coaxial with the diameter of the tapered opening. A rotatable locking stud is aligned within an opening in the male projection and includes a slot having locking grooves at its lower end. The stud is rotated through an angle causing the male and female flanges to be drawn together until the cooperating tapers are seated together. A spring retains the flanges in the locked position. A cooperating pin and pin receiving socket respectively provided on the male and female flanges at locations displaced from the male and female tapers are utilized to assure proper orientation between flanges and to prevent rotation of the flanges.

  • Patent number: 4875275
Abstract: A tool changer including male and female flanges for respectively connecting end effectors to robot arms and the like. A male flange assembly having a tapered projection is inserted into a tapered female flange member having a rod aligned along the diameter of the tapered opening. A rotatably mounted locking stud is aligned within an opening in the male tapered projection and is machined to provide a slot having locking grooves as its lower end. The stud is rotated through a 35 degree angle causing the male and female flanges to be drawn together until the cooperating tapers are seated together. A spring retains the flanges in the locked position. A cooperating pin and pin receiving socket respectively provided on the male and female flanges at locations displaced from the male and female tapers are utilized to assure the proper orientation between flanges and to prevent rotation of the flanges.
