Abstract: A portable, self-contained beverage apparatus includes a container assembly having a known storage capacity for storing a consumable liquid, and a dispensing assembly disposed within the container assembly that dispenses variable, non-zero quantities of additives into the consumable liquid. The dispensing assembly includes multiple apertures structured and arranged to retain vessels containing the additives to be dispensed into the consumable liquid. The beverage apparatus also includes a level sensor disposed within the container assembly that determines a consumable liquid level of the consumable liquid stored in the container assembly. In certain embodiments, one or more positive displacement pumping mechanisms are configured to pump additive liquid from additive containers into a beverage chamber.

Abstract: An embodiment of a storage device for medical products includes a cabinet defining an enclosure having a plurality of compartments. In addition, the storage device includes a plurality of storage containers, each storage container configured to be inserted into a corresponding one of the plurality of compartments. Further, the storage device includes an actuation assembly including a plurality of arms that are configured to engage the plurality of storage containers so as to secure the plurality of storage containers in the plurality of compartments. Still further, the storage device includes a release mechanism that is configured to simultaneously actuate each of the plurality of arms to release the plurality of storage containers from the plurality of compartments.

Abstract: An apparatus for the destruction of needles and other sharp objects using electrical current. In addition to an incineration ports where needles are inserted for destruction, the apparatus also includes certain improvements related to the shape and composition of the electrical contacts, certain safety circuits related to power source overheating, and digital monitoring and control of current throughput to minimize sparking.

Abstract: A seat assembly comprises a seat adjuster and a seat including: a seat bottom including: a first seat bottom portion; and a second seat bottom portion pivotably connected to the first seat bottom portion; and a seatback pivotably connected to the first seat bottom portion. The seatback is adjustable about a first pivot axis to a first seatback position and to a second seatback position via the seat adjuster. The seatback is disposed in the second seatback position and the second seat bottom portion is disposed in the raised position when the seat is in a second seat position. A hip point of a user is in substantially the same position relative to the first seat bottom portion when the seat is in the first seat position and when the seat is in the second seat position.

Abstract: A system for backflushing an irrigation-aspiration handpiece tip includes a source of backflushing fluid, a syringe for injecting the fluid through an aspiration tube of an irrigation-aspiration handpiece, the aspiration tube of the handpiece being connected to an aspiration tube of the irrigation-aspiration handpiece tip, and a coupling device for connecting the syringe to the aspiration tube of the irrigation-aspiration handpiece. The coupling device includes an inlet end and an outlet end, a receptacle at the inlet end for receiving the syringe and a passageway extending between the receptacle and the outlet end for passage of the backflushing fluid. The outlet end of the coupling device connects to the aspiration tube to complete the connection between the syringe and the aspiration tube of the irrigation-aspiration handpiece.

Abstract: An apparatus/kit for making a composite picture on a surface medium preferably includes such surface medium and pad-like applicators to apply color media to the surface medium forming respective symbols thereon creating the composite picture. The applicators preferably are padlike, being formed of paint, or other color media, holding pads mounted on a support structure or backing; the pads preferably are resilient and absorbent or adsorbent. The invention also embodies a method for creating a composite picture on a surface medium using such pad-like applicators to apply color media in selected symbol-like designs to selected areas of the surface medium. Such application may be in a form of free expression by the user or may follow a prescribed pattern furnished as part of the apparatus/kit.
