The sprayer includes a main body having a handle and a trigger. The sprayer also includes a spray head having a fluid input for receiving fluid material and a fluid output for spraying the fluid material. The spray head is removably couplable to the main body by rotating the spray head with respect to the main body to engage a connection component of the spray head to a corresponding connection component of the main body. The sprayer also includes a spray head locking mechanism on the main body that extends to engage a portion of the spray head.

  • Publication number: 20110103978
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a turbine for a fluid delivery system and more specifically, but not by limitation, to a portable air turbine for a fluid delivery system having improved sound reduction. In one exemplary embodiment, a portable turbine apparatus is provided and includes a motor and a turbine configured to be driven by the motor for providing pressurized air to an outlet. A first inlet airflow path delivers air to the motor. A first silencer component having sound absorptive material is positioned along the first inlet airflow path and includes at least one orifice formed therethrough for the first inlet airflow path, the at least one orifice having a cross-sectional area of at least 0.01 square inches. A second inlet airflow path delivers air to the turbine.

  • Patent number: 7878425
Abstract: A conventional liquid spray gun having a compressed air supply equipped with a liquid, e.g. paint, container for supplying the liquid to be sprayed onto a target surface. The container has a closed bottom, an open top and a cylindrical sidewall. A removable cover is attached over the open top of the container, and the cover has a pair of apertures extending through it, one of which holds a proximal end of a rigid tube whose distal end extends to a point close to the container's bottom. Slidingly mounted on the rigid tube is a generally circular, movable plunger whose periphery engages the cylindrical sidewall of the container. Pressurized air injected through the second aperture in the cover forces the plunger against the liquid's surface and causes the liquid to flow through the lumen of the rigid tube to the liquid inlet port of the spray gun.

  • Publication number: 20100078499
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a nozzle or tip for a fluid delivery system, and more specifically, but not by limitation, to a nozzle for a texture sprayer. In one exemplary embodiment, a texture spraying system is provided and includes a spraying device, an air source configured to provide pressurized air to the spraying device, and a texture material source configured to provide texture material to the spraying device. The system also includes a nozzle mounted proximate an output of the spraying device. The nozzle receives a flow of air and a flow of texture material. The nozzle includes a pin positioned in the airflow and is configured to produce a spray pattern that is substantially rectangular.

  • Patent number: 5971714
Abstract: The construction and operation of the control of this invention is designed to minimize pressure changes at pump changeover by sampling pump pressure characteristics for each pump cycle, calculating a compensating motion profile and applying the profile to the motor which drives the pump. This control can be used with any pump which has the following characteristics: positive displacement, repeating cycle characteristics, rotary motor drive and an output pressure cycle curve which never falls to zero.

  • Patent number: 5605446
Abstract: A reciprocable liquid pump having a priming cylinder affixed beneath the lower valve housing, and a priming piston rod affixed to the lower end of the pump piston valve assembly. A priming piston and priming valve are affixed to the lower end of the priming piston rod, the priming piston being slidable over a limited range of movement along the priming piston rod and having a central opening with a beveled valve seat. The priming valve forms a conical valve surface which is engageable against the priming piston valve seat to provide a controllable flow path through the center opening of the priming piston.

  • Patent number: 5117998
Abstract: The wiper plate is designed for ue with a variety of five gallon pails including both straight and tapered pails as well as with either cart applications or with rams. One unit allows a variety of pails to be utilized with the one device. Primary and secondary wipers provide continued contact with a tapered pail. For straight sided pails, a reversible tapered spacer provides varying wiper flexibility depending on whether the unit is going to be used with the ram or cart-mounted pail.
