  • Patent number: 10711916
Abstract: An aircraft environmental control system (ECS) includes a first valve that is adjustable between a plurality of first positions to open or shut-off a bleed air flow that flows from an inlet of the first valve to an outlet of the first valve. A second valve includes an inlet in fluid communication with the first valve outlet, and is adjustable between a plurality of second positions to throttle the bleed air that flows from the inlet of the second valve to an outlet of the second valve. A valve position sensor outputs a position signal indicating a measured position among the plurality of second positions. A controller is in signal communication with the valve position sensor. The controller is configured to determine a primary effective area of the second valve based on the measured position, and to diagnose operation of the first valve based on the primary effective area.

  • Patent number: 10478582
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a universal breathing tube adaptor that can accept or otherwise accommodate a metered dose canister (MDC) having a variety of shapes, structures, sizes, and/or configurations. The present breathing tube adaptor includes a sidewall which defines a chamber. A conduit extends from the chamber through a floor of the device for discharging aerosolized medicament from the MDC. The sidewall includes opposing exposed edges which define a channel. The sidewall supports the MDC when it is invertingly inserted into the chamber. The channel permits structure of an MDC to extend radially outward through the channel and outside the chamber thereby enabling the valve stem of the MDC to engage the conduit.

  • Publication number: 20190291872
Abstract: An aircraft includes a first engine that generates first bleed air flow and a second engine that generates second bleed air flow. The aircraft further includes an aircraft environmental control system (ECS) with a bleed manifold to collect the first bleed air flow and the second bleed air flow, and one or more air cycle machines to perform air conditioning consuming bleed air flow from the bleed manifold. The ECS balances the first bleed air flow and the second bleed air flow output from the first engine and second engine, respectively, based on a bleed manifold pressure of the bleed manifold.

  • Publication number: 20190203420
Abstract: A method of producing and repulping paper having a silicone release liner includes producing paper having a silicone release liner that is initially secured to the paper by a dissolvable material. During production of the paper, a water-soluble coating may be applied to a paper surface, and a silicone release coating is then applied to the water-soluble coating. Upon rewetting of the paper during repulping, the water-soluble coating dissolves, thereby enabling separation of the silicone release coating from the paper. The repulpable silicone release liner permits recovery of paper fibers using conventional repulping and recycling processes.
