  • Patent number: 11952427
Abstract: Provided herein are agonistic antibodies, or antigen binding portions thereof, that bind to human CD40 and comprise improved heavy and light chain variable regions that impart improved yield and reduced aggregation. The invention also provides methods of treatment of cancer or chronic infection by administering the antibodies of the invention to a subject in need thereof.

  • Patent number: 8277592
Abstract: A mirror is shaped using a shaping apparatus including a crossbar and a horizontal array of members (wheels in some embodiments) attached to a bottom of the crossbar. The height of the array of members is adjusted to form a predetermined shape. The shaping apparatus is positioned over a mirror such that the members contact the mirror. The shaping apparatus is moved along a length of the mirror such that the members remain in contact with the mirror. A frame is attached to the mirror such that when the shaping apparatus is removed from the mirror, the mirror substantially retains the predetermined shape.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 27, 2009
Date of Patent: October 2, 2012
    Assignee: AREVA Solar, Inc.
Inventors: Alexander F. Hoermann, David B. DeGraaf, James L. Barnhart, David John McKay, Daniel Crenshaw, Scott P. Phillips, Forest Ray, Seung Lim

  • Patent number: 5315997
Abstract: A method of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is disclosed which employs a diamagnetic contrast agent comprising gas-carrying, microparticles, which are preferably microspheres consisting of minute gas bubbles encapsulated by stabilized biocompatible material. The MRI is carried out to produce a shortened T2* effect. The method is especially useful in imaging the vascular system as in angiography or venography.

Inventors: Kenneth J. Widder, James L. Barnhart
  • Patent number: 5250283
Abstract: An organic contrast agent analog is derived to contain fluorine moieties. A method for making the organic contrast agent analog includes the steps of fluorinating the contrast agent analog for increasing the acidity of the analog to increase the choleretic activity of the analog and to render it less toxic.

  • Patent number: 5179955
Abstract: Abdominal ultrasound imaging is carried out by oral or rectal administration of an aqueous imaging agent containing micron size clay particles together with a sufficient amount of a solubilized hydrocolloid to maintain the particles in suspension. The walls of the stomach, duodenum and colon become coated with the clay particles and are thereby more clearly delineated by the ultrasonic imaging beam. At the same time, ultrasonic waves partially pass through the walls and delineate structures outside thereof. Wall delineation and wall transparency can thereby be simultaneously achieved.

  • Patent number: 5107842
Abstract: A method is provided for enhanced ultrasonic imaging of the gastrointestinal tract by employing an imaging agent comprising an aqueous particulate dispersion of edible substances, such as insoluble brans and mineral particles. Hydrocolloid particles can also be used, preferably in combination with insoluble non-swelling edible particles.
