  • Patent number: 11993387
Abstract: A gas turbine engine comprises, in axial flow sequence, a fan assembly, a compressor module, a turbine module, and an exhaust module. The gas turbine engine comprises first and second engine mount planes. The first and second engine mount planes are configured to support gas turbine engine in machine body. The gas turbine engine has axial length L, with axial length extending from inlet face of engine to exhaust face of engine. The first engine mount plane is positioned axially along gas turbine engine at first engine mount plane position, with first engine mount plane position within a range of between 0.24*L to 0.32*L from the inlet face of the engine. The second engine mount plane is positioned axially along gas turbine engine at second engine mount plane position, with second engine mount plane position within a range of between 0.73*L to 0.79*L from the inlet face of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5925415
Abstract: A method of electroless plating at least one homogeneous metal coating in a predetermined pattern on a solid substrate surface having pendant hydroxy groups. The method includes the steps of providing a first monatomic metal layer in a predetermined pattern on the solid substrate surface having pendent hydroxy groups and then immersing the solid substrate surface in a bath containing a chemical reducing agent to build up the at least one homogeneous metal coating only on the monatomic metal layer.

  • Patent number: 5281440
Abstract: A method of depositing a metal film on a silyl hydride surface of a solid such as silica gel, the solid normally having hydroxyl groups, the metal with a valence of zero being deposited on the surface by reaction of a metal ion in a solution with the hydrogens of the silyl hydrides. The above method is used to easily remove metal ions from a solution and also the method is a basis for determining the number of silyl hydride groups on the surface of the solid.

  • Patent number: 5140630
Abstract: An added main line system is disclosed with particular utility in connection with equipment for providing the services of two telephone lines on a single conductor pair. The ring generator of the added main line system has two transistor bridges, one for the ringing signal on each of two subscriber lines. In each bridge, diagonally opposed pairs of transistors are turned on in alternation, providing alternating current for the ringing signal. The two bridges, each of which has four transistors, share two transistors. Comparators provide off-hook detection during the ringing cycle. Off-hook detection circuits are provided in series with selected driver transistors of the bridges, so that the condition of customer equipment going off-hook may be detected even though limited power is available for testing for the off-hook condition.

  • Patent number: 4130574
Abstract: A method for increasing the hydrogen:carbon ratio of an organic compound is disclosed. The organic compound can be one having any of the following functions: hydroxyl, carbonyl, epoxide, acetal, ketal, hemiacetal and hemiketal. The method involves introducing the organic compound and a silicon hydride into a liquid which is either chemically inert or acidic and introducing BF.sub.3 into the liquid to produce a reaction product having a higher hydrogen:carbon ratio than the starting organic compound. Examples of organic compound starting materials disclosed include undecanal, benzaldehyde, p-methylbenzaldehyde, p-chlorobenzaldehyde, p-methoxybenzaldehyde, p-cyanobenzaldehyde, p-nitrobenzaldehyde, 2-undecanone, cyclohexanone, 2-methylcyclohexanone, adamantanone, p-cyanoacetophenone, fluorenone, 1-naphthaldehyde, p-nitroacetophenone, fructose and cotton.
