  • Patent number: 7381139
Abstract: A golf club face position detection system incorporates a light beam reflected off the face of a golf club as the face strikes the ball which activates a circuit to capture the image of the reflected light beam against a target area thereby indicating horizontal and vertical angulation of the face at or near the time of ball contact.

  • Patent number: 5971865
Abstract: A golf club shaft is provided with increased torsional stiffness by making the outside diameter of the tip end larger. The torsional stiffness per unit weight of the shaft is greater than the torsional stiffness per unit weight of prior shafts. The shaft can be attached to a clubhead by inserting the tip end over a male hosel or over a shaft adapter which is attached to a female hosel.

  • Patent number: 5632695
Abstract: A wood type golf clubhead includes a face, a sole, a crown, a toe portion, a heel portion, and a hosel portion adjacent the heel portion. The hosel portion has an inverted or recessed portion which includes a generally concave wall. A hosel tube extends upwardly from the hosel portion. The hosel tube is supported within a boss which is formed integrally with the inside surface of the face. An alignment groove is provided at the intersection between the face and the crown, and the groove includes a surface which lies within a plane which is substantially vertical when the clubhead is soled at address. The sole includes a flat portion for supporting the clubhead at address, and a rear wall curves upwardly and rearwardly from the flat portion to the crown. The toe portion and the crown merge at a relatively sharp angle to provide a streamlined shape.

  • Patent number: 5356003
Abstract: A golf bag is equipped with a stand for supporting the bag in a generally upright position. The stand includes a pair of support legs which are pivotally attached to the top of the bag. The golf bag is carried by a bag strap, and a leg strap is attached to one of the support legs and is attached to the bag strap for pivoting the support legs to a closed position when the bag strap is lifted and for allowing the support legs to pivot to an open position when the bag strap is relaxed.

  • Patent number: 5333863
Abstract: A golf putter includes a clubhead and a shaft. The clubhead is symmetrical about a first plane which extends through the center of the clubhead perpendicularly to the face of the clubhead. The centerline of the shaft passes through the intersection between the first plane and a second plane which is perpendicular to the first plane and which extends through the point on the face which is intended to contact a golf ball.

  • Patent number: 5228566
Abstract: A golf bag top and club separator is provided with slots for retaining the heads of golf clubs. Each slot has a flat bottom surface, a first flat side surface which extends perpendicularly upwardly from the bottom surface, a second inclined flat side surface which forms an obtuse included angle with the bottom surface, and a shaft opening which extends through the bottom surface and the inclined side surface.

  • Patent number: 5105550
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the length, lie and loft of a golf club includes a base having a flat top surface and a pivot plate which is pivotally mounted relative to the base for pivoting movement about a pivot axis which lies in the plane of the flat top surface of the base. The shaft of the club is held by the pivot plate so that the centerline of the shaft is perpendicular to the pivot axis and passes through the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 4453468
Abstract: A type holder for imprinters having a heated type receiving print head utilizes a permanent magnet to hold the type in place. The magnet is mounted in a frame which is easily removed from and installed on the print head of the imprinter and is interposed between the heated print head and the type with the type directly seated or bottomed thereon to accommodate very short type blocks and provide good heat transfer from the print head to the type face. The holders are useful in both reciprocating and rotating imprinter print heads.

  • Patent number: 4373436
Abstract: An intermittent motion imprinter particularly adapted for use with quick change cassette carried transfer tape to imprint spaced indicia by means of a reciprocating print head, the indicia being printed on a film strip, strip of labels, or product container passing the print head. Movement of the print head and advancement of the transfer tape is by means of a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder driving a reciprocating shuttle. The print head has a centrally aligned axially extending shaft with a diametical slot therethrough. The shuttle passes through the slot and engages a cam roller affixed to the shaft within the slot, the cam contacting walls of a camming surface of the shuttle. The print head shaft is radially restrained in a bearing member and the shuttle is restrained against movement transverse to the reciprocal movement direction. The shuttle terminates in a projecting portion which engages a one-way drive for advancing the transfer tape.

  • Patent number: 4318340
Abstract: A continuous motion ribbon imprinter moves with and marks a moving web on a packaging machine and has an easily set control adjusting step-by-step advance of the ribbon across the type block to accommodate wide variations in the size of the printed indicia so as to always present just enough length of fresh ribbon to cover the type for the next imprint. A frame mounting the type block and ribbon reels swings in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orbital path having a dwell stroke on the moving web, and a lift stroke spacing the ribbon from the web. The ribbon remains stationary on the type block during the dwell stroke and is advanced across the type block on the lift stroke. A single input shaft drives the frame through its orbital path and also drives the mechanism for unwinding the fresh ribbon from one reel and winding the spent ribbon on a second reel.

  • Patent number: 4231290
Abstract: A multiple imprint transfer tape marking device, which will imprint a multiplicity of imprint surfaces, substantially simultaneously. The imprint marking device includes a plurality of laterally aligned, individually powered marker heads which are adjustably positioned for cyclically imprinting a packaging film movable along an imprint path, normal to the laterally aligned marking heads. The imprint marking device further provides a transfer tape assembly pivotally adjustable to a suitable angle relative to the aligned marker heads to provide a proportioned width of the tape for individual use by each of the marker heads. The tape assembly is provided with an automatic tape advance mechanism and is arranged to accept various width transfer tapes selected in accordance with the number of marker heads utilized and the size of the imprint indicia.
