  • Patent number: 6983821
Abstract: An acoustically absorbent porous panel with a layer constructed from a substantially continuous open-celled porous material comprising a cured foamed cementitious material including a first face and a second face. The first face has a surface with a substantially planar profile and the second face has a substantially geometric pattern of depressions formed therein comprising approximately 50% to approximately 90% of the layer by volume.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 2003
Date of Patent: January 10, 2006
    Assignee: AWI Licensing Company
Inventors: Dean L. Putt, James L. Work
  • Patent number: 6749920
Abstract: Using a combination of relatively coarse filler and latex binder, a high solids coating which has a minimum solids content of about 60% by volume, can be produced with a relatively low working viscosity. These very high solids coatings can be applied in thick single layers and oven cured without cracking. They maintain more than 80% of their original wet thickness. The resulting coating provides an extremely hard and durable surface, even on relatively soft mineral fiber board ceiling tiles or wall panels.

  • Patent number: 5126013
Abstract: Mineral paper is provided which comprises a wet-laid sheet of 1) fibers, 2) a floc of a silicate selected from the group consisting of mica and vermiculite, the said floc having a cationic polymeric flocculant having a molecular weight in the range of from about 10,000 to about 1,000,000, and 3) a non-ionic polymeric flocculant having a molecular weight of from about 2,000,000 to about 10,000,000. A process is described herein for the preparation of the paper using the two flocculants by first flocculating with the cationic polymeric flocculant and then flocculating in another step with the non-ionic polymeric flocculant to obtain an easily drained flocculated mixture which is dewatered to obtain the mineral paper.

  • Patent number: 4035337
Abstract: Inhibiting compositions composed of alkylthio alkyl phthalates are disclosed. These compositions are useful as inhibiting agents in the light-induced yellowing of organic compounds containing aromatic amines.
