  • Publication number: 20140267419
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying augmented reality (AR) content are disclosed. The AR device may include a display configured to display real-world content overlaid with AR content and at least one sensor configured to provide an output indicative of an orientation, location, or motion of the AR device. The system may also include a processor device configured to: cause the AR content to be shown on the display at an initial location on the display; determine a change in orientation of the AR device based on the output of the at least one sensor; and change a position of the AR content on the display to a second location on the display, wherein the change in position of the AR content from the initial location to the second location is related to the determined change in orientation of the AR device.

  • Publication number: 20120211222
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for laying an expansible lining in a conduit. The device may include a patch having an initial diameter less than that of the conduit, and the patch may be configured to deform by radial expansion beyond an elastic limit to an expanded diameter such that it may contact a wall of the conduit. The device may also include an expander tool axially displaceable inside the patch, and the expander tool may be configured to cause the radial expansion of the patch to an expanded diameter. The device may also include a checking member mounted in proximity to the expander tool. A section of the checking member may be calibrated so that the checking member and the expander tool are capable of passing freely inside the patch when the patch is properly expanded, and the checking member and the expander tool are unable to pass inside the patch when the patch is improperly expanded.

  • Patent number: 7443125
Abstract: A power conversion apparatus for converting power from an alternating source to dc includes an input stage for receiving power from the alternating source, which includes an input filter, a rectifier for rectifying the alternating signal, a capacitor for storing energy from the rectified signal, and an output for outputting power from the rectifying means and the capacitor to the pulsed load. The pulsed load has at least one switched winding which receives power from the output, and wherein the capacitor is configured such that the voltage across the capacitor falls below 15% of the nominal peak rectified voltage of the source during each cycle of the alternating source. A converter of this kind provides benefits in that the current drawn from the ac supply falls within limits imposed by regulations and is simpler and cheaper than known converters of a similar power rating.

  • Patent number: 6991934
Abstract: A tissue processor is disclosed for processing biological tissue, for example, for mounting on microscope slides. The tissue processor has a valve arrangement in the bottom of a tissue processing chamber, whereby a selected one of a plurality of fluid ports formed in a base of the tissue processing chamber may be connected with the interior of the chamber for supply of processing fluid thereto or discharge of fluid from the chamber. In this way different processing fluids may be passed into and removed from the processing chamber in succession, for processing of tissue samples contained in baskets within the chamber. The valve arrangement comprises a rotary disc at the bottom of the chamber and in sealing engagement with a valve surface on the base of said chamber, the valve surface being provided with a plurality of ports connected with respective said fluid inlets.

  • Publication number: 20050288525
Abstract: A new class of reagents and method of use of the reagents in the reaction of the reagents with electrophilic compounds. The invention in one embodiment is directed to a method for the formation of an alcohol of the formula (I). The method includes reacting reagent of the formula (II) with an aldehyde of the formula R10CHO to form the alcohol. X3 is one of O and C(R4)(R5). Each of X1 and X2 is independently O or N—R. Each of Ca and Cb is independently an achiral center, an (S) chiral center or an (R) chiral center. Ra and Rb are (i) each independently C1-10 alkyl, C6-10 aryl or C3-9 heteroaryl, or (ii) taken together to form a C3-C4 alkylene chain which together with Ca and Cb forms a 5-membered or 6-membered aliphatic ring. Rc and Rd are each independently hydrogen, C1-10 alkyl, C6-10 aryl or C3-9 heteroaryl. R is C1-10 alkyl, C6-10 aryl or C3-9 heteroaryl.

  • Patent number: 6868910
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of regulating the flow rate of formation fluids produced from a determined zone of an underground well whose cased wall is provided with orifices through which said formation fluids can pass, said method consisting in applying a tubular structure along the casing in said zone, which tubular structure prevents the fluids from flowing directly while also preserving a flow path along which the fluids can flow via the annular space outside the tubular structure so as to generate head loss. The invention also relates to a device for implementing said method, which device is essentially constituted by a radially-expandable tubular structure that can be applied against the inside wall of the casing, the structure being provided with means for preserving the flow of the fluids via a path running along the casing and along the structure, in order to generate head loss.

  • Patent number: 5964288
Abstract: The device includes a radially deformable flexible tubular preform (1) that can be expanded by internal pressure and hardened in situ by heating its wall to polymerize it, the preform is formed of a rectilinear main section (10 and a rectilinear secondary section (11) at an acute angle (.alpha.) to the main section (10) and joined and sealed to the latter in a middle area (10c), temporary restraining bindings being provided to hold the secondary section initially in a radially folded condition, pressed against the main section (10), the combination then constituting a rectilinear preform, whereas after removal of the temporary restraining bindings (3), and due to internal pressure, the secondary section (11) separates from the main section (10), the combination then constituting a generally "y" shape preform adapted to be polymerized in the area of bifurcation of the well.
