Abstract: The present invention provides protocol enhancements and variations to the current state of RTB that provide additional buying methods to address the challenges associated with RTB, such as resource intensiveness for both exchanges and bidders and lack of a truly automated way of guaranteeing the win rates necessary to fulfill guaranteed campaigns with predictable risk. These methods include a) open bids that are automatically entered in future auctions in case of loss, b) buy orders for time-limited, small quantities of impressions specified either with a live auction bid response or via a separate interface, and c) guaranteed buy orders that allow impressions to be secured without a live auction in return for a premium above fair market value.

Abstract: A system for providing granular functionality called web services to commercial customers includes a web server configured to accept service requests from software application clients, functional implementations of the services, and a means of accounting for usage. The service grid architecture makes practical a reliable commercial provider of web services in the face of unreliable sources of functional implementations. This is accomplished through the commoditization of multiple implementation sources per service, standard forms for each service to which a plurality of sources is adapted, and a rules based approach to source selection per service call.

Abstract: Binary data is used to describe relative location and can be used to determine routing topology in wired or wireless network environments. A standardized matrix is populated based on capacity, bandwidth, and location. This method requires less data and is reduced to binary form for faster process at the Transport layer. Furthermore, the same binary sequence communicates the relative topology and is used to route data in complex and moving environments. Each numeric sequence can also communicate the bandwidth, capacity and node rating.

The current art specifies standards for functional interactions between web service clients and servers. A set of commercial extensions are defined herein to enable maintenance interactions. This “maintenance protocol” includes operations such as client software that is self-updating in response to server changes and the capability of reconciling client usage logs with service provider invoicing.

Abstract: An end user media preferences “key” captures an end user's personal media interests and tastes in a unique display format that is saved locally to an end user's computer. As the end user navigates to different web sites having media discovery applications and services, he or she uses the key to facilitate a media discovery process on such sites. In this manner, the key captures, carries and controls access to the end user's personal interests and tastes across multiple sites. On a given site, the key is used (by a local media discovery platform or process) to help match video, audio or other textual content with the end user based on the preference information that has been collected and embedded in the key. Upon receiving the key, the local media discovery platform or process immediately learns what the end user likes and can then locate the movies, video, news or other content that the end user would otherwise have to locate directly or via site-specific entry and processing of end user preference data.

Abstract: A capture device permits selecting portions of a media stream encoded with associated data based on specified event data. The associated data corresponds to the content within the media stream, and the event data includes words and phrases of media desired by a user. The capture device contains a media processing unit, a delay device, and a control device. The media processing unit includes a decoder that is configured to receive media streams and extract the associated data from the media stream. The delay device, configured as a circular buffer, stores a predetermined length of the media stream. The control device receives the event data, compares the associated data with the event data, and generates a trigger event when the associated data matches the event data.

Abstract: A method of preparing a graft ABS polymer comprising first preparing a rubbery graft ABS polymer by emulsion polymerizing acrylonitrile and styrene in the presence of a rubber, coagulating the emulsion and then polymerizing a mixture of acrylonitrile and styrene in the presence of the coagulant and an organic or inorganic suspending agent to form bead-like particles of ABS.
