Abstract: The present application relates to the control and management of an energy system in coordination with a fluctuating energy market and, in one form provides a method for managing supply of energy to a number of energy consuming devices connected to a power distribution system of an energy supply system. The method may include the steps of: (1) monitoring one or more parameters affecting energy usage, (2) acquiring a first set of values based on the parameters, (3) calculating a set of predicted future values based on the first set of values, (4) identifying a context related to the first set of values, and (5) presenting control actions to increase efficiency of energy supply in response to the context.

Abstract: The present application relates to the field of energy consumption. In one form, a method of controlling a number of sensing devices includes the steps of: forming a queue of a number of sensing devices, selecting one of the sensing devices, storing the settings of the selected sensing device, determining at least one active mode of the selected sensing device, calculating a sleep time for the selected sensing device, and operating the selected device with its stored settings in accordance with the calculated sleep time.

Abstract: The present application relates to a method and system of dynamically responding to a Demand Response (DR) request of a commercial energy system to reduce energy consumption of at least one energy consuming appliance, equipment and/or device, and includes: providing the DR request with an associated priority, and controlling at least one control device operably connected to energy consuming appliances, equipment and/or devices of an individual building in accordance with predetermined criteria based on the associated priority.
