Abstract: A dump vehicle comprising a chassis and a dump bed with a cylinder laterally constrained by a stabilizer. The cylinder is supported on a support structure and pivotably connected thereto and to the dump bed. The stabilizer includes a retainer extending at least partially around the cylinder and having arms extending downwardly from the retainer and outwardly from the cylinder. The stabilizer constrains the cylinder laterally, at least partially absorbing side loads imposed on the cylinder.

Abstract: The present invention entails a hydraulically actuated tarp retraction and extension system for a truck wherein the system provides for the automatic extension or retraction of a tarp about the load bed of the truck. A tarp reel assembly is provided and includes a a tarp which is biased by the reel assembly itself to assume a wound or retracted position. A pair of swing arms are connected to a leading edge of the tarp and are in turn connected to a hydraulic control system which is operative to extend the tarp to a covered position over the load bed and wherein the tarp reel assembly is operative to wind the tarp in response to the arms being moved towards the tarp reel assembly. In one mode of operation, the hydraulic control system automatically provides for the retraction of the tarp in response to the load bed of the vehicle being raised from a horizontal position to a generally vertical dumping position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic self-locking roll back carrier of the type that is adapted to be mounted on a vehicle. The roll back carrier includes a sub-frame and a lift frame pivotably mounted thereto. Movably mounted to the lift frame is a load bed. Operatively interconnected between the sub-frame and lift frame is a pair of hydraulic lift cylinders. Interposed between the hydraulic lift cylinders and lift frame is a locking bar assembly that is movably mounted between longitudinally spaced stops in the lift frame. Secured to the sub-frame and disposed adjacent the locking bar assembly when the lift frame is in a transport position is a locking structure. The locking structure is so positioned with respect to the position occupied by the locking bar assembly when the lift frame is in a transport position that the locking structure effectively overlies the locking bar assembly and locks the lift frame to the sub-frame.
