  • Patent number: 7174783
Abstract: Apparatus for remote inspection of fluid containers, e.g., portable tanks, includes an electronic circuit in communication between each container (or at various locations along a pipeline) and a remote central station. The electronic circuit is adapted to issue a signal to the remote central station that includes information about predetermined internal and/or external conditions such as the level of liquid stored in the tank, a pressure condition of material stored in the tank, a lack of presence of the tank in an installed position, or the presence of an obstruction restricting access to the tank.

  • Patent number: 6766688
Abstract: A tank liquid level or volume gauge for use with volatile materials, such as propane, stored under pressure as liquid and released as gas, includes a float with a float magnet that couples with a liquid level indicator magnet across a fluid impermeable wall to provide indication of tank liquid level or volume. In another embodiment, when a predetermined tank liquid level or volume is reached during filling, the float actuates an inlet closure valve to increase inlet flow resistance, creating a shutoff signal.

  • Patent number: 5971288
Abstract: A thermostatic control valve has an expansion composition held in a cavity thereof. The composition contains electrical conductor particles dispersed throughout an electrical isolator. The particles conduct electrical current through the isolator when the electrical isolator has a volumetric size that is less than a predetermined expanded volume. When the isolator expands to the predetermined expanded volume, the distance between the particles is increased to the extend that the electrical current cannot be conducted.

  • Patent number: 4636231
Abstract: A filter element and method for making it include the steps of providing a pleated paper filtering media and providing a batt-like filtering media containing thermoplastic fibers which is slightly larger than the pleated paper filtering media. A ring-shaped die is used in a press to apply heat and pressure to the edges of the batt-like filtering media while accommodating the rest of the batt-like filtering media in the aperture of the die. Accordingly, a stiffened wall is provided which circumscribes the pleated paper filtering media. The pleated paper filtering media is attached to the stiffened, fluid-impermeable wall to provide a fluid-impermeable seal therebetween. A perimetrically-extending flange gasket is simultaneously formed around the edge of the batt-like media, so that the latter can be sealingly engaged in an air cleaner housing.
