    Abstract: L-shaped bracket for securing insulation relative to a mullion or transom includes a side plate which defines a first major side of the L-shaped bracket and a flange which defines a second major side of the L-shaped bracket. The side plate defines at least one aperture configured to receive a fastener so as to facilitate attachment of the side plate to a side surface of the mullion or transom. A first receiving slot is disposed in the side plate and configured to receive a clip leg of a clip. The first receiving slot can be defined by a slot plate supported in spaced relation to a surface of the side plate. The clip is configured to engage the insulation.

The insulation assembly includes an upper plug mated the shape of the fluted channel which is at least partially surrounded by an outer cover and further includes a lower insulation section extending over the side walls of the head-of-wall area. The upper insulation plug and the lower insulation sections are preferably made of molded high temperature insulation. The insulation assembly is engaged only frictionally to the fluted ceiling channels.

The configuration of the insulating gasket member includes a main section and two side sections which extend over the outwardly facing surfaces of a conventionally configured ceiling track or runner without being attached to the ceiling track side panel side surfaces.     Abstract: A blanket or curtain of flexible fire retardant material is collapsed and retained within a retaining housing construction positioned adjacent to a curtain wall assembly for firestop sealing thereover. The housing includes a safing angle member secured to the curtain wall assembly and a cover which releases responsive to sensing fire conditions to allow the firestopping blanket to deploy downwardly to extend between curtain wall framing members and be positioned extending across a curtain wall panel for fire protection thereover. Such curtain wall panels are commonly made of glass which tends to fracture during a hot fire. The cover will release the blanket responsive to controlled failure of fusible links which secure the cover to the safing angle member. After deployment the blanket will deflect fire and heat away from the curtain wall panel to prevent the spread of fire to adjacent floors.

    Abstract: A sealing gasket for use attached preferably to the topmost edge of gypsum board when used as construction wallboard. The gasket includes a support leg section capable of being mounted in engagement with preferably the uppermost edge of the gypsum board. The gasket includes a sealing leg extending outwardly from said leg section which includes an intumescent component to facilitate sealing between the edge of the gypsum board and the wall structure above. In one embodiment the sealing leg includes an intumescent impregnated paper material covered with a structurally enhancing layer. An adhesive layer can be included to attach the gasket to the gypsum wallboard. The sealing leg in this embodiment has an ā€œAā€ or ā€œPā€ profile and will extend upwardly and inwardly over the upper edge of the gypsum board at an obtuse angle with respect to the support leg for sealing thereabove in the head-of-wall area.

    Abstract: A relatively inexpensive bushing easily installed extending through walls, particularly, gypsum board membrane walls for providing firestopping around a limited number of linear penetrating members such as cables or wires. This grommet construction includes first and second half sections for facilitating attachment around cables more easily. A split internal seal preferably of resilient foam material is positioned within a split mechanical shell which facilitates placing of the bushing around penetrating members prior to placement thereof through walls or after positioned thereof penetrating through a panel such as wallboard. A split mechanical shell with a two-piece foam insert retained within a bore extending therethrough can be formed as two separable half cylindrical shells. Barbs are included on the outer portion of the shell to facilitate mounting thereof. The foam firestopping seal portion can be intumescent.
