    Abstract: Disclosed is a self-contained Solar Powered Proximity Security Device which operates both local devices, such as lamps, and remote devices through its internal encoder/transmitter. In its automatic mode the device may be operated and triggered by its own internal motion detector or from other local external devices connected to it, or by any combination of internal or external detection devices or switches. Response may be further conditioned by detected ambient or other conditions. For example, the light may not turn on during daylight hours or under conditions of low battery charge to conserve power for priority functions.

    Abstract: A lockset for a door has a strike on the door frame and a latch bolt on the door panel. The latch bolt is reciprocable and is projected by a spring and preferably has a deadlatch operation. The latch bolt is retractable by rotation of an inner knob or of an outer knob. The outer knob is locked by a key lock controlling an axially movable plate engaged with the outer knob and interengageable with an outer escutcheon adjacent the outer knob. The key lock can move the plate out of engagement with the outer escutcheon and into engagement with the inner knob. A turn button in the inner knob can also move the axially movable plate.

    Abstract: A bolt unit for providing different amounts of backset has a bolt housing detachably joined to any one of several subframes made up of pairs of identical side plates of different length. A bolt, reciprocable in the housing, is actuated by mechanism supported on the subframe, that mechanism including one of a selection of hooks of different lengths corresponding to the different backset lengths.
