  • Publication number: 20090288845
Abstract: A foam type fire extinguishing apparatus includes a selector which is operable to produce selected constant air flows for mixing with foam to provide variations in foam consistency and strength in accordance with the type of foam agent being used and the type of fire to be extinguished. The selector has a plurality of outputs with tunable valves connected with each output except for a first output. Each valve is adjusted to provide a different flow rate. By operating the selector to choose the appropriate output, different air flows are provided for mixture with the foam.

  • Patent number: 5406859
Abstract: The invention is a versatile device for transferring power between rotary and reciprocating linear motion comprising a rack assembly with opposed, spaced apart longitudinal portions joined by curved end portions arrayed to form a substantially continuous engaging surface; a stator block for guiding the rack assembly in reciprocating linear movement; a pinion wheel; a guide cam for holding the pinion wheel continuously in engagement with the engaging surface of the rack; and a floating power transfer shaft connected with the pinion wheel and mounted to swing in an arc perpendicular to the linear motion of the rack assembly. Linear reciprocation of the rack assembly through the stator block is coupled with rotary motion of the power transfer shaft and periodic rocking of the shaft as the pinion wheel traverses the engaging surface of the rack.

  • Patent number: 5094202
Abstract: A two stroke reciprocating internal combustion or external compression engine which has at least two of needed power connecting posts mounted on each end of a carrier mechanical assembly which slides in a guided area by virture of the engine's stator design. In the carrier assembly there is incorporated an oval-type, internally toothed gear track which moves in reciprocating, linear motion. A circular, externally toothed gear is mounted on a rotatable, floating power shaft which extends perpendicular to the carrier. In that the gear is in constant engagement with the oval gear track, it is rotated by the linear movement of the reciprocating carrier. Proper gear engagement is insured by either a guider plate or by interlocking rollers in the carrier assembly. The output power end of the floating shaft is received in a mechanical unit which couples the floating shaft to an output shaft for use.
