  • Patent number: 11957342
Abstract: A surgical instrument is disclosed herein. The surgical instrument can include an end effector that includes jaws configured to transition between an opened condition and a closed condition, a plurality of electrodes positioned within the jaws of the end effector, a control circuit, and a memory configured to store an algorithm configured to cause the control circuit to determine an impedance signal based on signals received from the plurality of electrodes, detect a media positioned between the jaws of the end effector based on the determined impedance signal, determine a position of the detected media based on the received signals, and generate an alert associated with the detected media and the determined position.

  • Patent number: 4752035
Abstract: A two-piece stopper is provided for insertion into the mouth of garbage disposal units. The first piece inserts snugly into the open disposal mouth and has rather large apertures through which water can pass, when the disposal unit is not in use and the sink in which it is mounted is to be used as an ordinary sink. The apertures are large enough to pass small bits of food and waste, but small enough to keep out popsicle sticks, bottlecaps, silverware, and the like. The second piece is a plug which inserts into a cylindrical wall or bore in the first piece to cover the drain apertures of the first piece so that the sink's drain opening is entirely covered and the sink can be filled with water for washing dishes and similar purposes.
