  • Patent number: 4659020
Abstract: A readily adjustable shatter jet mechanism comprises a frame which rotatably and displaceably receives a fluid supply pipe assembly. The assembly includes a fluid supply pipe which is pivotally movable. A nozzle is connected to the pipe and can be rotated into one of a plurality of rotational positions. The assembly can be disengaged from the frame and reengaged with the frame at a different location so that the pipe and its nozzle can also be displaced with respect to the frame. In this way the fluid jet can be directed in a variety of directions toward a smelt stream to be broken up by the fluid jet.
