  • Patent number: 12014218
Abstract: Customers of a shared-resource environment can provision resources in a fine-grained manner that meets specific performance requirements. A customer can provision a data volume with a committed rate of Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and pay only for that commitment (plus any overage), and the amount of storage requested. The customer will then at any time be able to complete at least the committed rate of IOPS. If the customer generates submissions at a rate that exceeds the committed rate, the resource can still process at the higher rate when the system is not under pressure. Even under pressure, the system will deliver at least the committed rate. Multiple customers can be provisioned on the same resource, and more than one customer can have a committed rate on that resource. Customers without committed or guaranteed rates can utilize the uncommitted portion, or committed portions that are not being used.

  • Publication number: 20240196499
Abstract: A load control device adapted to be coupled between an AC power source and an electrical load for controlling the power delivered to the load includes a controller, an actuator for turning the electrical load on and off, an occupancy detection circuit, and an ambient light detector. The load control device automatically turns on the electrical load in response to the presence of an occupant only if the detected ambient light is below a predetermined ambient light level threshold. After first detecting the presence of an occupant, the load control device monitors actuations of the actuator to determine whether a user has changed the state of the load. The load control device automatically adjusts the predetermined ambient light level threshold in response to the user actuations that change the state of the load.

  • Patent number: 12004753
Abstract: A tourniquet for occluding blood flow to a limb is improved by the addition of proximal and distal strain gauges. The proximal strain gauge may be monitored under conditions of total blood flow occlusion for time-varying signals indicative of volumetric limb changes arising from the subject's blood flow in the proximal section of the limb. Upon a change in limb occlusion pressure, the signals from the proximal strain gauge can be observed to change also, and the working pressure in the tourniquet can be adjusted safely in response. Automated control systems may further use inputs from a distal strain gauge and/or from a sensor that detects induced pressure changes within the tourniquet to improve the control of the tourniquet working pressure during operation to avoid unwanted blood flow past the tourniquet.

  • Patent number: 12009040
Abstract: A memory device to program a group of memory cells to store multiple bits per memory cell. Each bit per memory cell in the group from a page. After determining a plurality of read voltages of the group of memory cells, the memory device can read the multiple pages of the group using the plurality of read voltages. For each respective page in the multiple pages, the memory device can determine a count of first memory cells in the respective page that have threshold voltages higher than a highest read voltage, among the plurality of read voltages, used to read the respective page. The count of the first memory cells can be compared with a predetermined range of a fraction of memory cells in the respective page to evaluate the plurality of read voltages (e.g., whether any of the read voltages is in a wrong voltage range).
