  • Patent number: 5505505
Abstract: A device for securing a closure. An illustrated latching device is for releasably securing a closure such as a window. The device includes a base for mounting, typically to a pivotally mounted window frame. The base has an upstanding hollow threaded shaft. There is a handle having a downwardly depending threaded cylinder the threads mating with the threads of the shaft to permit rotation of the handle between lower and upper positions. The handle includes an abutment for abutting a surrounding window frame to preclude relative movement of the pivotal frame when the handle is in the lower position.

  • Patent number: 4432523
Abstract: A shelf support bracket for supporting a shelf in a cabinet of the type having a plurality of shelves, the vertical positioning of which is effected by movement of the shelf support brackets, includes a backplate adapted for mounting against a sidewall of said cabinet, the sidewall of the cabinet and the shelf support bracket being constructed and arranged for removably mounting the shelf support bracket on the cabinet sidewall. A shelf support plate projects from a first surface of the backplate and is adapted to receive an edge portion of a shelf. A shelf-retaining structure is affixed to the backplate in a position spaced from the shelf support plate and cooperates therewith to retain the shelf edge portion on the support plate.

  • Patent number: 4428605
Abstract: A latching drop lock for a movable closure member such as a sliding glass window includes a lock body that supports a pivotably mounted, elongated latch element. The lock body and the latch element are slidable as a unit along one side of the movable frame and are slidably engaged in a peripheral channel thereof. The lock body includes a lock bolt element that is insertable in an aperture in the fixed frame to secure the sliding window in a closed position. The elongated latch element includes at one end a detent that is fixedly engageable with the window frame to secure the drop lock in the locked position. The latch element further includes an integral resilient bias spring that urges the lock element rotated about its pivot axis so as to engage the detent whenever the drop lock is slid to the locked position. The latch element further includes manually depressible means operable to disengage the detent and unlatch the drop lock.

  • Patent number: 4313693
Abstract: A rain gutter joint includes upper and lower clamping members between which adjacent ends of a pair of rain gutter troughs are clamped and joined together. Cooperable pin and socket assemblies in the clamping members enable the members to be fastened with conventional fasteners without exposing such fasteners to standing water in the rain gutter. The joint apparatus accommodates thermal expansion and contraction of the rain gutter troughs and yet also provides a superior watertight seal between the troughs.

  • Patent number: 4285484
Abstract: A shelf and clothes rod assembly for a closet includes a shelf and a clothes rod supported at their opposite ends by single piece closet fittings affixed to opposing closet walls. Each fitting comprises a first solid wall to abut a wall of the closet. A second wall is longitudinal of and substantially perpendicular to the first wall and supports a shelf when the fitting is in its useful position. A rod-receiving recess defined by a curved wall is formed on the first wall, below the second wall when its fitting is in its useful position. There are means in said first wall to permit mounting of the fitting on a closet wall. The fitting is durable and extremely easy to position.
