  • Publication number: 20050050466
Abstract: Various systems, methods, and computer programs embodied in a computer-readable medium for print fulfillment in a print facility having a central print orchestrator and a plurality of print sub-processes, where each print sub-process implements a partial print fulfillment of a print job. In this respect, a job ticket that describes the characteristics of a finished document is modified to include a print process workflow and print sub-process workflows. The print processor workflow directs the routing of the job ticket to print sub-processes and the print sub-process workflows direct a partial print fulfillment of the finished document in a print sub-process.

  • Publication number: 20050004893
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to workflow management devices, workflow management systems, workflow management methods, workflow assignment methods, and data processing methods. In one aspect, a workflow management device includes a communications interface configured to receive a user request having one or more user-desired product properties to achieve a user-desired product. The communications interface is further configured to communicate with one or more devices located external of the workflow management device. The management device also includes a storage device configured to store data for processing the user request, and processing circuitry configured to process the user request using the data to produce a transformed user request. The transformed user request includes information for automatically organizing workflow to process the one or more user-desired product properties to achieve the user-desired product.

  • Patent number: 6282711
Abstract: This invention includes a method for more efficiently installing a subset of software components and data files contained in a component pool in a distributed processing network such as the Internet. An installation package delivered to a requesting end user is custom configured at a remote server location prior to delivery to a client system operated by the user, in response to the user's inputs. The delivered installation package contains only the programs, data, and local installation tools required for the user's unique installation requirements. The user initiates the installation process by connecting to the remote server system via a telecommunications link within a distributed processing network, such as the Internet. Engaging in a dialog with the server which provides informational links to server-side databases, the user chooses all software components and options that he desires his software package to have. Such a package may be, for example, a subset of a software suite.

  • Patent number: 5070529
Abstract: An electrical circuit board interconnection system having motherboard 13 and a plurality of option board assemblies 10. Each option board assembly 10 has circuit board 15 to which is attached male pin connector assembly 12 on one surface and a mating female connector assembly 11 on the other surface. Both connector assemblies are oriented with pins 17 and female receptacles 18 parallel to the surface of the boards 15. Ejector levers 14 attached to female connector 11 to bear against male pin housing 36 to assist in disconnection option boards 10 from each other and motherboard 13. Power transfer bus 42 and signal transfer bus 43 interconnect the male and female pin connection 12 and 11 of each circuit board 15 to facilitate the sequential interconnection of a plurality of option board assemblies 10 to motherboard 13.
