  • Patent number: 8666085
Abstract: An active noise reduction (ANR) component for provision in an earphone housing is disclosed. The device includes a driver and a sensing microphone, the driver and sensing microphone being housed in a component housing. The earphone housing has an outlet passageway from the ANR component to an auditory canal. The ANR component is adapted for use with a controller to provide active noise reduction to the auditory canal over a predetermined range of physical dimensions or acoustic parameters of the housing outlet passageway. The ANR component can thus be used with different housings which simplifies the design process for producing ANR earphone products.

  • Patent number: 8628618
Abstract: A vapor delivery system for supplying vapor to a chamber in a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) system includes a vapor supply that supplies vapor by vaporizing at least one liquid precursor in a carrier gas. A first path includes a first filter that filters the vapor flowing from the vapor supply to the chamber. At least one second path is parallel to the first path and includes a second filter that filters vapor flowing from the vapor supply to the chamber. A plurality of valves are configured to switch delivery of the vapor to the chamber between the first path and the second path.

  • Publication number: 20090148431
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of modulating production of neurons and/or oligodendrocytes from neural progenitor cells of human white matter and to a method of treating a subject for a condition modulated by underproduction of oligodendrocytes from human white matter. Both of these methods involve administering an agonist or antagonist of one or more molecules set forth in Tables 1 and/or 2 to the neural progenitor cells. Also disclosed is a method of using an inhibitor of sterol synthesis to differentiate oligodendrocyte progenitor cells to oligodendrocytes.

  • Patent number: 7275606
Abstract: The invention contemplates a strainer based upon a four-way, two-position rotary cylindrical plug valve having a hollow plug. The normal entry port for the sealing plug of the plug valve is a circular radial hole passing from the exterior of the plug into the interior cavity of the plug. The normal exit port for the sealing plug is a regular array of small holes across from and coaxial with the normal entry hole. The ports for the valve body are in two pairs positioned at 90° from each other, with the axes of the ports lying in the same transverse plane as the ports of the valve plug.

  • Patent number: 5886314
Abstract: A profiled end cut is applied to a length of stock pipe in an apparatus wherein the pipe is rotated by a drive head with a plasma cutter moved axially on a trolley in synchrony with rotation under control of a guidance system. The guidance system follows a desired pattern to effect two adjoining end cuts in a single continuous operation. Pipe handling is effected by two sets of rollers, a support set permitting rotation and a lifting set to enable axial movement.

  • Patent number: 5810406
Abstract: The present invention relates to moldings such as trim strips and, more particularly, to moldings comprising an outer layer and an inner layer which are bonded together mechanically by a plurality of mating lugs and recesses disposed along the interface of the two layers. Ideally, the materials utilized for the first and second layers will be sufficiently compatible such that adhesive bonding will also be accomplished between the layers, without generally requiring a separate adhesive be disposed therebetween. Various methods for manufacturing the moldings in accordance with the teachings of the present invention are also disclosed.
