    Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided for allowing biometric information to be used as a signature to an electronic contract. The method comprises: obtaining an electronic version of a contract, and obtaining biometric information from at least one party to the contract. Thereafter, the biometric information is associated with the contract to uniquely identify the party to the contract. The apparatus is comprised of an electronic contract and a device adapted for obtaining biometric information from a party to the electronic contract. The apparatus also includes a device for associating the biometric information with the electronic contract.
