  • Patent number: 4669670
Abstract: An expeller for discharging manure from the tank of a manure spreader avoids severe deformation when contacting rocks in the manure by having paddles fastened with shear bolts which are designed to fail whenever a predetermined load is exerted on the outer ends of the paddles. If the shear bolts fastening any one of the paddles should fail while the expeller is operating to discharge manure from the tank of a manure spreader, that paddle will be moved to a retracted position and will be held there until new shear bolts can be installed.

  • Patent number: 4452032
Abstract: An apron chain lubricating apparatus for roll baling machines is actuated to automatically lubricate the apron chains in response to the rear frame of the machine being raised and lowered such as in discharging a bale from the machine. The apron lubricating apparatus includes a reservoir, containing lubricant, and a pump both preferably mounted on the rear frame of the machine. The pump is operated to deliver lubricant from the reservoir onto the apron chains when the rear frame is raised and lowered.

  • Patent number: 4406221
Abstract: A roll baling machine includes an apron supported on a base frame and movable in suitable manner to form roll bales of crop material. A bale retainer is mounted on the base frame to momentarily hold a roll bale upward in the base frame during its discharge therefrom. The bale retainer is movable from an inoperative position during bale formation to an operative position during discharge of a roll bale from the base frame.

  • Patent number: 4253389
Abstract: In a twine wrapping apparatus for a crop roll forming machine effective to bind the periphery of a crop roll with a binding material having at least a first binding material dispenser and a second binding material dispenser, drive apparatus connected to the binding material dispensers and overload protective apparatus positionable between a driving connection and a non-driving connection between the drive apparatus and the binding material dispensers, there is provided an alignment apparatus cooperable with the drive apparatus and the overload protective apparatus to retain the drive apparatus so that it is held in a fixed position while the overload protective apparatus is moved from the non-driving connection to the driving connection to thereby permit the binding material dispensers to be driven through their predetermined paths of travel.

  • Patent number: 4206587
Abstract: In a crop roll forming machine adapted to be towed across a field, a kicker means is fastened to the opposing sides of the frame and extends at least partially therebetween adjacent the conveying means and the rear end so that upon completion of the formation of the crop roll the roll is ejected from the bale forming region into contact with the kicker means which propels it rearwardly of the roll forming machine.
