  • Patent number: 11303366
Abstract: Methods and systems for harmonic intermodulation testing are presently disclosed. The test system includes a signal generator configured to generate a test signal having a first frequency. The test system also includes an antenna system configured to transmit a representation of the test signal and receive a harmonic intermodulation signal. The test system also includes a filter configured to remove signals, from a representation of the harmonic intermodulation signal, over a bandwidth that includes the first frequency. The test system also includes an analysis unit configured to measure a power level of a second frequency contained in the representation of the harmonic intermodulation signal. The analysis unit is also configured to determine a passive intermodulation magnitude at any order based on the power level of second frequency.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 22, 2018
Date of Patent: April 12, 2022
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
Inventors: Robert L. Reynolds, James T. Farrell, James D. Cooper

  • Patent number: 10424424
Abstract: Coaxial radio frequency (“RF”) connectors for high-power handling are disclosed. Specifically, a high-power male coaxial connector (“HPMC”) is disclosed. The HPMC includes a center conductor, an outer conductor disposed around the center conductor, an insulating layer positioned between the center conductor and the outer conductor, and a first elastomer. The outer conductor has an outer conductor front-end (“OCFE”) and the insulating layer has an insulating layer front-end (“ILFE”). The first elastomer is positioned between the center conductor and the insulating layer. The insulating layer may include an insulating layer cavity (“ILC”) extending inward into the insulating layer from the ILFE and the first elastomer may be within the ILC.

  • Publication number: 20100144251
Abstract: A hand-held buffing apparatus (1) having a cylindrical body (6) with a core (7) and an outer pad (8) that spins around a horizontal axis located between a substantially U-shaped frame (2). Upper handles (5) extend upward from the substantially U-shaped frame. The placement of the upper handles is directly above two parallel outer members (3a, 3b), thereby allowing a user to exert forward pressure on the buffing apparatus while ergonomically controlling the motion of the hand-held buffing apparatus. A motor (10) located on the substantially U-shaped frame and housed in one of the two parallel outer members is mechanically coupled to the cylindrical body to enable the cylindrical body to rotate about the horizontal axis horizontally and parallel to a desired surface.
