  • Patent number: 10547736
Abstract: A system and method for determining a presence of a mobile device located in a predetermined detection zone within a vehicle may include a plurality of transmitters located within the vehicle, in which each of the plurality of transmitters is configured to transmit an acoustic signal into an acoustic environment within the vehicle, and in which each of the acoustic signals comprises at least one ultrasonic pulse, a mobile device configured to periodically record sounds in the acoustic environment, and a processor configured to determine that a periodically recorded sound by the mobile device comprises each of the acoustic signals transmitted by the plurality of transmitters, determine a location of the mobile device within the vehicle based on the acoustic signals recorded by the mobile device, and determine that the location of the mobile device matches the predetermined detection zone.

  • Publication number: 20180122422
Abstract: Introduced herein are techniques for improving media content production and consumption by utilizing metadata associated with the relevant media content. More specifically, systems and techniques are introduced herein for automatically producing media content (e.g., a video composition) using several inputs uploaded by a filming device (e.g., an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) copter or action camera), an operator device, and/or some other computing device. Some or all of these devices may include non-visual sensors that generate sensor data. Interesting segments of raw video recorded by the filming device can be formed into a video composition based on events detected within the non-visual sensor data that are indicative of interesting real world events. For example, substantial variations or significant absolute values in elevation, pressure, acceleration, etc., may be used to identify segments of raw video that are likely to be of interest to a viewer.

Abstract: Introduced herein are systems and techniques for automatically producing media content (e.g., a video composition) using several inputs uploaded by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) copter, an operator device, and/or some other computing device. More specifically, production and modification techniques based on sensor-driven events are described herein that allow videos to be created on behalf of a user of the UAV copter. Interesting segments of raw video recorded by the UAV copter can be formed into a video composition based on sensor events that are indicative of interesting real world events. The sensors responsible for detecting the events may be connected to (or housed within) the UAV copter, the operator device, and/or some other computing device. Sensor measurements can also be used to modify the positioning, movement pattern, focus level/point, etc., of the UAV copter responsible for generating the raw video.

  • Patent number: 5354168
Abstract: Apparatus for restraining and transporting dies in punch press operations is provided. A floatation platen for supporting a die on the platen's upper surface has a plurality of recessed gas exhaust ports on the platen's lower surface. A source of pressurized gas delivers gas to a platen manifold, for delivery to orifices located in the gas exhaust ports. The flow of gas is controlled by a first valve adjacent the gas source and a second valve adjacent the manifold, with the second valve being used to control the gas flow during movement of the die. In this fashion, a die may be moved on a cushion of air from one workstation to a selected second workstation. A moveable hydraulically operated restraining fixture is also provided, for clamping the die in position during the compacting phase, and for releasing the die after completion of the compacting phase by releasing the hydraulic pressure on the restraining fixture.
