Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for a data storage apparatus with a secondary optical memory. The data storage apparatus includes a data storage cartridge, a primary data storage medium in the data storage cartridge, and a secondary optical storage medium attached to the data storage cartridge. The data storage apparatus, in one embodiment, includes a beam splitter attached to the data storage cartridge. The beam splitter may be positioned at approximately a 45 degree angle in relation to a data storage surface of the secondary optical storage medium.

Abstract: A rotary switch rotates about an axis which is at acute angles to a lower cartridge surface and a cartridge end so that a first display surface and a second display surface may be independently accessed by disparate components residing in disparate planes. The display surfaces are generally orthogonal to each other and can have multiple facets, with each facet containing a subset of information. To aid this optical interrogation, the display surfaces may be generally orthogonal to the disparate interrogating components.

An internal adapter sleeve is mounted with in the sliding tubular valve member to provide a tight seal with any of the conventional dispensing connectors. The external adapter ring is provided with a pair of radially extending flanges adapted to accept and position different dispensing connectors. At least one of the radially extending flanges is provided with at least two wings to engage a threaded mounting collar of a service line connector.

Abstract: A ceiling-mountable display monitor system for the passenger compartment of a vehicle. The display monitor system includes a display monitor coupled to a housing assembly. In one exemplary embodiment, the housing assembly is selectively adjustable for mounting in different vehicles having different ceiling configurations. In another exemplary embodiment, an upper portion of the housing assembly is mountable above the vehicle headliner, while a lower portion of the housing assembly is mountable below the headliner. Optionally, the upper and lower portions of the housing assembly clamp onto the headliner. The upper and/or the lower portions may be adjustable for mounting in different vehicles.

Abstract: A workstation is provided with a curved tool rail suspended above a work surface. The curved tool rail has a tool trolley slidably coupled thereto for movably supporting a tool or part above the work surface. In a preferred embodiment, the work surface is part of a work bench. Preferably, the curved tool rail is suspended above the work surface by an adjustable frame which provides four-way adjustability of the curved tool rail. The curved tool rail keeps the tool or part suspended therefrom in reach of the worker.

Abstract: A trolley having a top member and a base member that are releasably coupled together without the use of a separate fastener. The top member has a top connecting portion with a top locking element, and the base member has a base connecting portion slidably engaging the top connecting portion. The base connecting portion has a base locking element hinged thereon and releasably engaging the top locking element for releasably locking the top and base members. To unlock the top and base members, and allow them to freely slide relative to one another, a screwdriver can be used to bias the base locking element away from the top locking element. The base member further has a portion for attaching a holding device. The top and base members define a through passageway that receives an elongated support therein and has rollers for allowing the trolley to move along the support.

Abstract: Rail hopper cars have loading gates which is a way of controlling the flow of material that is in hopper cars out through a connection tube. There are control rods for opening and closing the loading gate. There is an end cap that fits over the open end of the connection tube. The cap, in the present invention, has outwardly extending radially spaced locking lugs each having a locking convex surface. A separate locking lug concave surface is positioned on each handle of the control rods for mating with the convex surfaces on the cap. When the end cap is placed over the tube and is rotated to a position where the locking convex surfaces are adjacent the locking lugs on the operating handles of the control rods, the control rod handles cannot turn. Also when in this position the locking lugs on the handles prevent the cap from being removed. A spring loaded locking lever on the end cap engages a locking slot on the end tube and prevents rotation of the end cap when it is positioned thereon.

Abstract: A method for producing a metallic interface suitable for overlaying consists of exposing the area of an alloy combination to be overlayed to a temperature above its lower critical until an element reduced zone arises. This element reduced zone more easily accepts element diffusion that takes place during overlaying. Accordingly, an improved interface, one that is more ductile and less prone to cracking, is produced.
