  • Publication number: 20110307573
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a solution to optimize data transfer between a mobile device and a cloud storage provider. Specifically, embodiments of the present invention may select one or more files for transfer from the mobile device to a cloud storage device based on an analysis of a set (at least one) of factors such as: (1) the percentage of local storage being consumed on the mobile device; (2) the mobile device's billing plan, and whether file transfer will cause the billing plan to be exceeded; (3) a capacity of a link between the mobile device and the cloud storage provider; (4) dates of last access for files stored on the mobile device; and/or (5) a battery power remaining in the mobile device (if applicable). Any files selected based on an analysis of these factors can be transferred via the link and deleted from the mobile device. Typically, a file is a candidate for transfer if it has not been accessed recently (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7993354
Abstract: Devices and methods for minimally invasive suturing are disclosed. One suturing device for minimally invasive suturing includes a proximal section a distal end, and an intermediate region therebetween. The device includes a suture head assembly having a suturing needle with a pointed end and a second end. The suturing needle is capable of rotating about an axis approximately perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the device, wherein the pointed end of the suturing needle is positioned within the suture head assembly prior to deployment of guides that are adapted and configured to guide the needle around a circular path when advanced by a drive mechanism having a needle driver for engaging and rotating the suturing needle.

  • Patent number: 7287599
Abstract: A well casing packer is provided that includes a seal mandrel having a first coupler, a second coupler, and a neck extending between the first coupler and the second coupler. A first compression body is slidably coupled to the seal mandrel at the first coupler. A second compression body is connected to the seal mandrel, and a compression lock ring connected to the first compression body. A packer seal is disposed in surrounding relation to a portion of the neck of the seal mandrel and between the second compression body and the compression lock ring, such that a longitudinal movement of the seal mandrel with respect to the first compression body allows the second compression body and the compression lock ring to longitudinally compress and radially expand the packer seal.

  • Patent number: 6003621
Abstract: An apparatus for enhancing production from a well by lowering a tubular conductor into the well to a position in which the conductor extends downwardly from near the surface of the earth to a zone beneath the surface, and a drilling unit is advanced past a whipstock held by the tubular conductor at the predetermined zone, thereby deflecting the drilling unit in a lateral direction through an opening in a side wall of the conductor into the earth formation about the conductor. The whipstock may initially be attached to the drilling unit by a shear connection. An anchor may lock the lower end of the tubular conductor in place in the well, with a rotatively adjustable connection enabling rotation of the tubular conductor to different rotary positions for producing holes in the formation in different directions. A second whipstock may be lowerable into the tubular conductor to direct liners from within the conductor into the holes formed in the formation.
