  • Publication number: 20240165429
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a method of driving an end effector coupled to an ultrasonic drive system of a surgical instrument. The method comprises generating at least one electrical signal. The at least one electrical signal is monitored against a first set of logic conditions. A first response is triggered when the first set of logic conditions is met. A parameter is determined from the at least one electrical signal.

  • Publication number: 20240148429
Abstract: A method for determining motional branch current in an ultrasonic transducer of an ultrasonic surgical device over multiple frequencies of a transducer drive signal. The method may comprise, at each of a plurality of frequencies of the transducer drive signal, oversampling a current and voltage of the transducer drive signal, receiving, by a processor, the current and voltage samples, and determining, by the processor, the motional branch current based on the current and voltage samples, a static capacitance of the ultrasonic transducer and the frequency of the transducer drive signal.

  • Publication number: 20170066687
Abstract: A cement composition and a process are provided for recycling a waste material by using the waste in the manufacture of Portland cement. The process generally comprises mixing a first quantity of the waste material thoroughly with a second quantity of a solid material so as to produce a non-compacted additive. The non-compacted additive is applied to cement clinker, wherein the additive is utilized as a substitute for virgin ingredients normally used in the manufacture of the Portland cement. In an embodiment, the non-compacted additive comprises a consistency of wet earth which is readily pliable with the second quantity by weight not exceeding three times the first quantity by weight. The cement clinker is then pulverized so as to distribute the additive within the resulting Portland cement.

  • Patent number: 8181969
Abstract: A lubrication blocking seal includes a hollow body that has upper and lower planar surfaces, a surrounding wall, a reservoir area and an open top. The body has upper and lower seal-receiving recesses located in the upper and lower planar surfaces, and a lower central aperture sized and shaped to fit closely about a rotating shaft. A cover is sized and shaped to seal to the hollow body and has an upper central aperture sized and shaped to fit closely about the rotating shaft and means for mounting a bearing about the shaft and to the cover. A lower seal is sized and shaped to fit closely about the rotating shaft and into the lower seal-receiving recess. An upper seal is sized and shaped to fit closely about the rotating shaft and into the upper seal-receiving recess. A quantity of lubricating material sufficient to fill the reservoir area is provided.

  • Patent number: 5496404
Abstract: A process for utilizing waste by combining of the waste with a mineral based solid material forming an additive. This additive is included as an ingredient in the manufacture of Portland cement with the additive being added to the cement clinker after heat treating of the raw material constituents producing the cement clinker.

  • Patent number: 4468150
Abstract: The present invention entails an adjustable boat cradle for supporting a boat. There is disclosed a rectangular base frame structure with a plurality of adjustable vertical support assemblies strategically located and connected to the base frame structure. Typically said vertical support assemblies extend generally upwardly from at least the corner areas of the base frame structure and includes an upper cradle pad that actually engages a side portion of the boat's hull while the keel of the boat is directly supported by an underlying support. To accommodate hulls of various sizes and shapes, the effective length and angle of orientation of the vertical support assemblies can be conveniently adjusted. In addition, the cradle pads are universally mounted about the vertical support assemblies such that they will rest adjacent the hull irrespective of the orientation of the support structure comprising the respective vertical support assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4449846
Abstract: The present invention relates to a transverse saddle type boat cradle for transversely supporting a boat at fore-and-aft positions. A rectangular base frame structure is provided with a vertical support frame assembly at each end. Each vertical support frame assembly is adapted to assume an upright supporting position. A detachable hull support panel is secured transversely within each vertical support frame assembly. To provide direct engagement and support for the boat, the hull support panel includes an upper support surface or edge that is selectively shaped and configured to generally conform to the shape of a particular boat hull. Thus in a supported position, a hull support panel underlies and engages the supported boat at fore-and-aft positions. Further to stabilize the boat and prevent rotation of the same within the hull support panels, there is provided a keel restraining device that is operative to prevent the keel from moving laterally.
