  • Patent number: 5163378
Abstract: A ground supported boat lift including a frame which is pivotally movable about two shorter spaced apart parallel legs connected at each rear corner of the frame from an upright position to a generally horizontal position of the frame. A boat cradle is connected and extends perpendicular between the legs and is raised from being in close proximity to the ground to being above the ground by the legs as the frame is pivoted into a horizontal position. Optional removable wheels and a trailer tongue convert the device to a more conventional boat trailer.

  • Patent number: 5042417
Abstract: An attachment for a boat which raises at least the stern of a boat for transportation and/or storage. A stern support, a pivot for securing the support to the boat, and a system for pivoting the support are disclosed. The support pivoting system rotates the support from an initial position to a final position whereby the boat is sufficiently elevated relative to the ground or water bottom.

  • Patent number: 4779888
Abstract: An attachment for a boat trailer to enable a boat carried by the trailer to be raised and stored above the water, the attachment being readily applied to a conventional trailer by the use of relatively simple tools and comprising a pair of extensible legs which are moved from a normal retracted position to an extended position to raise the trailer sufficiently with respect to the water that the boat is supported above the surface of the water. The extensible legs may either be legs which are rocked or legs which are formed of two telescoping parts so that one part of each leg can be moved with respect to the other part to effectively extend the leg.

  • Patent number: 4765663
Abstract: A lock assembly is provided which contains a spring-loaded dead bolt and a spring-loaded plunger intercoupled to one another. The assembly is such that when the door is closed, the plunger is pushed in by the striker plate on the door frame, and this releases the spring-biased dead bolt and causes the dead bolt to be fully extended into the cavity in the striker plate. When that occurs, the linkage coupling the assembly to the doorknob moves to a position in which one of its members serves as a stop to prevent the dead bolt from being forced back to a retracted position until the doorknob is turned.

  • Patent number: 4717816
Abstract: An electronic key and lock system is provided which is particularly suited for use in hotels and motels to control access to the rooms of the establishment. The system includes a battery energized microcomputer controlled unit in each door which is capable of activating an electromechanical deadbolt mechanism when a magnetically encoded card bearing a selected code is inserted into a slot in that particular door, and which includes a non-contact proximity magnetic sensor for the cards. The microcomputer controlled unit has five levels of response, namely, guests, maid, master, grand master and emergency. In addition to responding to the selected code, the microcomputer is programmed also to respond to cards bearing a new code when a new guest inserts his card into the slot in the door, and of adjusting the unit to respond to the new code and not to the previous code.

  • Patent number: 4376382
Abstract: A resettable single-barrel single-plug cylindrical two section lock assembly is provided wherever master keying is required. The lock of the invention is intended to be operated and reset by three different keys. One key (#1 key) is used to turn the lock to a position in which it may be reset by either of the other two keys. One of the other two keys (#2 key) operates a first section of the dual lock; and the other of the other of the two keys (#3 key) operates a second section of the lock which is independent of the first section. Either section may be reset by inserting the existing #2 or #3 key into the lock once the lock has been turned by the (#1) key to a predetermined position, and then turning the lock to the reset position, and after the existing key has been withdrawn, turning the lock back to its normal operating position by the new key, either the #2 or #3 keys, depending upon which section of the lock is being re-keyed.

  • Patent number: 4336701
Abstract: A keying process is provided for use in hotels or motels in conjunction with resettable room locks, so that an immediate indication is provided by the key itself as to whether it is the current key for the lock of a particular room. The key is provided with a serial number which identifies the key so that it may be grouped with its duplicates. The key is also provided with a removable plug which identifies the particular room whose lock has been set currently to accept the key. Two, or more, differently colored plugs are provided for each room, and each time the lock of a particular room is reset to accept a new key, the new key is provided with a room-identifying plug of a different color from the previous key. The key slots at the hotel or motel desk may be provided with correspondingly colored lights, or other color indicators, and the color indicator corresponding to the color of the current plug is activated for each slot.

  • Patent number: 4185427
Abstract: An aerial device includes a boom support structure, a boom pivotally secured to the support structure, and first and second boom lift hydraulic actuators. The first and second boom lift hydraulic actuators are operated in tandem to raise, lower, and hold the boom in position. The first and second boom lift hydraulic actuators are pivotally connected between the boom support structure and the boom and are disposed with respect to the boom pivot axis so that regardless of boom position, one of the first and second actuators is under tension and the other is under compression. This eliminates the danger of loss of lift of the boom caused by end gland failure of a lift actuator.

  • Patent number: 4069694
Abstract: A double-barrel double-plug cylindrical lock is provided for hotels, and the like, where changes of occupancy frequently occurs. The lock cylinder is constructed to be of approximately the same size and shape as the prior art lock cylinders, so that the lock of the invention may readily be mounted into existing mortise door hardware to replace existing cylindrical locks. One plug of the lock is intended to be operated by the guests' key; and the other plug is intended to be operated by the maid's key, by an emergency key and by a program key. The guest key may be used to turn the guest plug to a resettable position in which a new guest key may be inserted which sets the guest plug to accept the new key. However, the lock is constructed so that the guest plug cannot be turned to its resettable position unless the emergency key or program key is first inserted in the other plug to turn the other plug to a particular angular position in which the guest plug is able to be turned to its resettable position.

  • Patent number: 3999413
Abstract: An improved lock assembly of the wafer tumbler type is provided which includes a plurality of wafer-type tumblers mounted in a cylindrical plug or carrier at spaced positions along the axis of the carrier. The tumblers are slidable radially in the carrier to project beyond the carrier into restricted annular pockets in the inner surface of the housing, so as to hold the lock in a locked condition. Only when the proper key is inserted into the plug are all the tumblers drawn within the confines of the plug by the key, allowing the key to turn the plug and to operate the latch or bolt controlled by the lock.

  • Patent number: 3938359
Abstract: A cylindrical lock assembly is provided which is approximately the same size as present-day cylindrical "Mortise" locks, and which can replace present-day locks in the doors of hotels, motels, or other establishments, merely by removing the existing lock cylinders and replacing them by the lock cylinders of the invention. The lock assembly of the invention has a number of internal logic ring members which are mounted tandem to one another in coaxial relationship with the central axis of the lock, and which are replaceable to change the key pattern to which the lock will respond. The lock also includes a plurality of spring-biased tumblers, which are moved longitudinally to mating positions with respect to the various logic ring members when the proper keys are inserted in the lock.
