  • Patent number: 8965564
Abstract: In various embodiments, the present invention comprises associating a marker with at least some of the seeds containing a genetic element of interest of the bulk sample, exciting the seeds using an photonic emitting device, evaluating at least some of the seeds of the bulk sample for the presence or absence of the marker, and sorting the seeds containing a genetic element of interest based on the presence or absence of the marker. In various other embodiments, the method may comprise associating a red fluorescent protein marker with at least some of the seeds containing a genetic element of interest of the bulk sample, evaluating at least some of the seeds of the bulk sample for the presence of the red fluorescent protein marker using an evaluating device, and sorting the seeds containing a genetic element of interest based on the presence of the red fluorescent protein marker.

Abstract: A method for distinguishing and sorting seeds containing a genetic element of interest from a bulk sample. • Patent number: 5979252
Abstract: A static sample divider of the present invention is adapted to sample a flow of material such as seed. The sample divider includes a housing which encloses an upwardly facing cone disposed above one or more sample cups. The sample cups are coupled to a sample receiving tube. When a flow of material is directed toward the cone, the cone spreads the flow of material radially and outwardly where a portion is caught by the sample cups and dumped into the sample receiving tube. The remainder of the material is discharged through a discharge tube. The sample cups can be removed and replaced with different numbers or different sizes of sample cups to control the proportion of material sampled.

  • Patent number: 4925186
Abstract: A pitcher's mound on, which a pitcher in the sport of Baseball stands while pitching the ball, is collapsible, and is made up of several wedge-shaped segments which are connected to a central hub in an easily releasable manner. The segments and the central hub are quite rigid yet are of a size and weight which makes them reasonably portable. The surface of the pitcher's mound can be such as to absorb impact when struck by a ball and to provide good footing for the pitcher.
