Publication number: 20240092190Abstract: Techniques control a utility vehicle. Such techniques involve storing electric power in a lithium battery of the utility vehicle. Such techniques further involve operating a motor controller of the utility vehicle in a normal mode in which the motor controller provides electric power from a lithium battery of the utility vehicle to an electric motor of the utility vehicle to turn one or more ground engaging members of the utility vehicle. Such techniques further involve, after operating the motor controller in the normal operating mode, operating the motor controller in a walkaway mode in which the motor controller configures the electric motor to provide braking torque.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Arthur James Harvey, Norman R. Patent number: 11922326Abstract: Approaches are described for generating suggestions for new nodes or new relationships in a knowledge graph based on content of data assets represented by existing nodes in the knowledge graph. The knowledge graph is defined by nodes connected by edges. A method includes determining that a data asset represented by a root node of a knowledge graph has been changed, where the changed data asset is represented by a version node connected to the root node. The changed data asset is processed, including: identifying one or more candidate terms in the changed data asset, and comparing each candidate term with each of one or more existing terms from data assets of the knowledge graph other than the changed data asset to obtain (i) one or more of the candidate terms that do not correspond to any existing term or (ii) one or more candidate terms that each corresponds to a respective existing term that is not related to the version node representing the changed data asset.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: BackOffice Associates, LLCInventors: Kyl Wellman, Jon Green, Tyler Warden, James Maniscalco, Rex Ahlstrom

Patent number: 9680217Abstract: Real-time calibration of a tunable matching network that matches the dynamic impedance of an antenna in a radio frequency receiver system. The radio frequency receiver system includes two non-linear equations that may be solved to determine the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The tunable matching network is repeatedly perturbed and the power received by the antenna is measured after each perturbation at the same node in the matching network. The measured power values are used by an optimizer in converging to a solution that provides the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The reflection coefficient of the antenna may be used to determine the input impedance of the antenna. The elements of the matching circuit are then adjusted to match the input impedance of the antenna.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2014Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Shirook M. Ali, James Warden, Mohamed Bakr

Patent number: 8358615Abstract: Transmission of data from a portable communication device to a base station via a radio frequency signal uses a plurality of modulation and coding schemes and a protocol that has recurring frames. Each frame has a plurality of transmission slots, different numbers of which can be used to transmit data. When it is desired to transmit data a higher rate than was used previously, an attempt is made to increase the number transmission slots being used. If doing so, produces a transmission results in a specific absorption rate limit being exceeded, then the modulation and coding scheme is changed to one having a greater data coding rate. The power level and the number transmission slots then are set so that the data transmission does not exceed the specific absorption rate limit. The data is then transmitted by the portable communication device.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2010Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Assignee: Research In Motion LimitedInventors: Shirook Ali, James Womack, Amin Mobasher, James Warden
