  • Patent number: 10386074
Abstract: A fuel injector for a combustor of a gas turbine engine is disclosed herein. In embodiments, the fuel injector includes an injector head adjoining a stem. The injector head includes a main premix passage, a main air inlet, vanes, and a main premix resonator. The main premix passage extends through the injector head and the main air inlet directs compressed air into the main premix passage. The vanes are located within the main premix passage for swirling the compressed air. The main premix resonator is located adjacent to and downstream of the vanes.

  • Publication number: 20190093562
Abstract: A scroll for a fuel injector assembly of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The scroll includes a cylindrical body that has an axial end face and an inner surface defining a bore. A passage spans circumferentially within the cylindrical body around the bore. Further, an inlet channel extends from the axial end face to the passage and is configured to facilitate a flow of a fuel to the passage. Moreover, outlets are formed in the cylindrical body to facilitate a release of the fuel from the passage. The cylindrical body includes a resonator integrally formed with the cylindrical body. The resonator includes a chamber, and a channel that fluidly couples the chamber to the inlet port.

  • Publication number: 20180094816
Abstract: A fuel injector for a combustor of a gas turbine engine is disclosed herein. In embodiments, the fuel injector includes an injector head, a stem, a fuel passage, a fitting, a fuel inlet, and a resonator. The stem extends from the injector head. The fuel passage extends within the towards the injector head. The fitting is joined to the stem distal to the injector head. The fuel inlet fluidly connects the fitting to the fuel passage. The resonator includes a resonator body enclosing a resonator cavity and a resonator neck passage that fluidly connects the resonator cavity to the fuel passage adjacent to the fuel inlet.

  • Patent number: 8966908
Abstract: A fuel injector for a turbine engine may include a body member disposed about a longitudinal axis, and a barrel member located radially outwardly from the body member. The fuel injector may also include an annular passageway extending between the body member and the barrel member from a first end to a second end. The first end may be configured to be fluidly coupled to a compressor of the turbine engine and the second end may be configured to be fluidly coupled to a combustor of the turbine engine. The fuel injector may also include a perforated plate positioned proximate the first end of the passageway. The perforated plate may be configured to direct compressed air into the annular passageway with a first pressure drop. The fuel injector may also include at least one fuel discharge orifice positioned downstream of the perforated plate. The at least one fuel discharge orifice may be configured to discharge a fuel into the annular passageway with a second pressure drop.
