Patent number: 11990185Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein reconfiguring word lines as either data word lines or dummy word lines. In a sub-block mode reconfigurable word lines are used as dummy word lines that provide electrical isolation between data word lines in a block. The block may be divided into an upper tier, a middle tier, and a lower tier, with the reconfigurable word lines within the middle tier. In a full-block mode the reconfigurable group of the word lines are used as data word lines. Because the reconfigurable word lines are used as data word lines in the full-block mode storage capacity is greater in the full-block mode than in the sub-block mode. Moreover, because the sub-blocks are smaller in size but greater in number than the full-blocks, the memory system may be provisioned with fewer blocks and still meet user storage requirements in both the full-block mode and the sub-block mode.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2022Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: SanDisk Technologies LLCInventors: Xiang Yang, YenLung Li, James Kai

Publication number: 20240144396Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for providing a concentrate grade recommendation using a concentrate grade optimization engine in a material processing engine of a material processing system. The concentrate grade recommendation refers to a quantified value for concentrate grade that corresponds to an economic value for ore of a mining process. In operation, input data comprising material processing planning data and economic data associated with a recovery process are accessed. The input data is analyzed using a grade recovery relationship machine learning model. The grade recovery relationship machine learning model is trained on historical material processing data features associated with concentrate grade and recovery of the material recovery process. The historical data includes data on produced concentrate (e.g., achieved grades and corresponding recovery). Based on analyzing the input data, a concentrate grade that corresponds to an economic value is generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2022Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Rohin Wood, Ric Zong-Yang Porteous, Artem Vladimirov, Malcolm James Walsh, Julian Edwin Lovett Cooper

Patent number: 11971386Abstract: A monitoring system detects and measures a quantity of radical particles within a gas. A test chamber is coupled to a flow channel that transmits a gas. The test chamber defines an aperture connecting the test chamber and the flow channel, and the aperture permits a subset of the gas to enter the test chamber from the flow channel. An ionizer is positioned within the test chamber and generates radical ions from radical particles of the subset of the gas. A mass spectrometer measures a quantity of the radical ions, thereby providing a measurement of the radical particles in the gas.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: MKS Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Chenglong Yang, Jimmy Liu, James Edward Blessing

Patent number: 11971782Abstract: Systems and methods for a controller including controller memory and logic are presented herein. The logic is configured to control access to a persistent storage media and, in response to one or more commands, the logic determines an intermediate parity value based on a first parity calculation, and using the intermediate parity value determines a final parity value based on the intermediate parity value and a second parity calculation. Determining the intermediate parity value includes sending a uni-directional command to read an old data value from an address indicated in the uni-directional command, perform an exclusive-or operation on the old data value and a new data value indicated in the uni-directional command to determine the intermediate parity value and store, in the persistent storage media, the intermediate parity value at a location associated to an index indicated in the uni-directional command.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2020Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: SK Hynix NAND Product Solutions Corp.Inventors: Sanjeev Trika, Gregory Tucker, James Harris, Jonathan Hughes, Piotr Wysocki, Gang Cao, Qihua Dai, Benjamin Walker, Ziye Yang, Xiaodong Liu, Changpeng Liu, Jackson Ellis
