  • Patent number: 11820630
Abstract: A plate assembly for mounting an electrical enclosure in a position vertically aligned atop an overhead rail used to support a traveling hoist which traverses back and forth along the rails on a trolley. The plate assembly includes a plate which is shaped like an inverted U by a central opening extending up from the bottom with mounting portions projecting normal to the plate which are configured to be attached to the enclosure when installed in the opening at the top and to respective rail pieces clamped against respective sides of the opening.

  • Publication number: 20210123546
Abstract: An arrangement of pressurized air hoses and method for supplying pressurized air to pneumatically separated equipment such as hoists as the hoist is moved along a support rail. A series of pairs of lengths of air hoses are connected together at either end which are initially vertically oriented and packed together. As the hoist is manually moved along it causes the upper ends of the lengths to be swung apart from each other eventually becoming substantially horizontal. This movement causes the overall length of the series to be substantially lengthened allowing the hoist movement to occur while its need for pressurized air being maintained all along its range of movement.

  • Patent number: 10900559
Abstract: An automatic lubricating arrangement for a chain hoist in which a lubricating body is inserted in a downwardly angled hole in a fixed structure enclosing a rotary drive member engaging the chain. The lower end of lubricating body rubs a surface on the rotary drive member to deposit lubricant thereon as the drive member is rotated, which lubricant body is pushed laterally along and onto adjacent chain links.

  • Patent number: 10464787
Abstract: A hoist security arrangement for avoiding dropping of the load when the chain or cable breaks includes a longer redundant auxiliary chain or cable disposed alongside the main chain or cable and which is raised and lowered synchronously with the slightly shorter main chain or cable so that the main chain or cable normally supports the entire weight of the load. If the main chain or cable breaks, the load drops slightly until the slack in the redundant auxiliary chain or cable is eliminated to hold the load solely by tensioning the auxiliary chain or cable. The extent of slack is set to insure that slight lengthening of the main chain as caused by wear does not result in loading of the auxiliary chain or cable.

A stationary dual hoist system is also described in which two hoist assemblies are interconnected by a chain and sprockets to provide synchronized operation.

  • Patent number: 6354644
Abstract: Apparatus for handling hollow core rolls of different core diameters, by picking up a roll disposed with its axis vertical, relating the same to a horizontal position, and sliding it onto a horizontally extending spindle. A stepped diameter holder having sets of gripper elements is supported on an angled arm driven by a rotary actuator. After insertion of the stepped diameter into a roll core and outward movement of the gripper elements, the core can be moved to a horizontal orientation by oscillation of the actuator. The stepped diameter holder has a ball locking assembly which is inserted into a receptacle attached to the projecting end of the spindle. After full insertion sensed by blockage of air flow out of a hole in the end of an actuator rod caused by contact with a compressible insert, the actuator rod is moved axially to dock the spindle to the stepped holder by operation of the ball locking assembly and the gripper elements are released, allowing powered push off of the roll onto the spindle.

  • Patent number: 6138574
Abstract: An overhead trolley track system has extruded aluminum track sections having tubular portions, adjacent track sections connected end to end with plates attached to a central upright flange portions formed on each track section. Sealing tubular fittings are slidably received in each end of the rubular portions adjacent sections held by the plates to allow air pressure to be distributed. Air pressure fittings are inserted in drilled holes along the track sections, held in by brackets. The trolleys have rollers engaged with opposite upper sides of the tubular portions, the trolley rollers separable to allow removal from the track sections.

  • Patent number: 5921368
Abstract: A gravity conveyor has a train of spaced apart load carriers distributed around a closed circuit trackway. The trackway is inclined downwardly from a loading end to an unloading end. The carriers are connected together into a train by segments of chain, so that removal of a load at the unloading end causes advance of load carriers along a lower track of the trackway. The chains are connected to protruding portions of the carrier to be away from the trackway, avoiding any frictional drag of the chain.

  • Patent number: 5915840
Abstract: A linear guideway arrangement is provided by upper and lower guide bars held in a spaced apart parallel relationship by a series of locator blade pieces having end contours engaging the inside surfaces of the guide bars. Upper and lower rollers sets are mounted to a holder member, the rollers in each set engaging the upper and lower surfaces of the guidebars to provide low friction rolling support for a structure mounted to the holder member.

  • Patent number: 5784965
Abstract: An interlock mechanism connects a movable trackway end-to-end to another trackway to allow rolling transfer of a crane trolley. The bridging trackway assembly is mounted on the movable trackway to be vertically movable to bridge a gap between the trackway ends. Blocking members prevent exit of a trolley from either trackway, which members are moved aside as the bridging trackway assembly descends. A secondary blocker prevents exit of a trolley if the lever system is operated when the trackway end is not positioned opposite the other trackway. Camming surfaces act to accurately align the ends as the bridging trackway assembly descends.

  • Patent number: 5772184
Abstract: A control arrangement for a fluid pressure operated hoist has a load mounted handle assembly including tubular handle portion slidable on a support rod attached to the hoist cable, and a bracket fixed at one end to the handle and extending alongside and offset from said support rod. A three position spring centered valve is mounted to the bracket, with a pair of pins each engaging one end of a valve element and a respective fixed flange on the support rod allowing valve operation by movement of the handle to block, vent, or pressurize a hoist fluid chamber to hold, lower, or raise the load.
